Profile

The German Private Equity and Venture Capi­tal Asso­cia­tion (BVK) is the repre­sen­ta­tive of the German private equity indus­try, cove­ring private equity firms from venture capi­tal through growth capi­tal to buy-outs, as well as insti­tu­tio­nal inves­tors. The BVK repres­ents 300 members, of which 200 are private equity and venture capi­tal firms, almost 100 consul­tancy and law firms that work with private equity firms. It is the mission of the BVK to create a most favoura­ble envi­ron­ment for the private equity indus­try in Germany. This requi­res impro­ving tax and legal condi­ti­ons for private equity in Germany in a dialo­gue with poli­ti­cal and admi­nis­tra­tive decis­­ion-makers, faci­li­ta­ting access to capi­tal sources, analy­sing market trends, and support­ing our members in exchan­ging their expe­ri­en­ces. To achieve this, syste­ma­tic indus­try commu­ni­ca­tion is funda­men­tal like that which the BVK pursues toge­ther with its members.
It is the mission of the BVK to (1) foster a better under­stan­ding of the private equity busi­ness among the gene­ral public, (2) support its members in commu­ni­ca­ting their busi­ness, (3) promote coope­ra­tion between its members, (4) coope­rate with insti­tu­ti­ons and asso­cia­ti­ons at natio­nal and inter­na­tio­nal levels.
It is the objec­tive of the BVK to (1) create the best possi­ble envi­ron­ment for private equity in Germany. This includes to (2) sort out tax and legal obsta­cles, (3) faci­li­tate the search for and access to private equity funds, (4) survey markets and analyse market trends, (5) promote the exch­ange of expe­ri­ence among our members, (6) issue publi­ca­ti­ons on private equity in Germany.
