Munich — The independent investment company Egeria has acquired a stake in Junge Die Bäckerei, a leading provider of chain-based bakery and gastronomy concepts in northern Germany. The Junge family will remain closely associated with the company as shareholders and in an advisory capacity. Together with Egeria, the company is pursuing the goal of further expanding its market position in existing regions and strategically expanding into new markets. The parties have agreed not to disclose financial details. Completion of the transaction is still subject to the usual official approvals.
The traditional company based in Lübeck was founded by the Junge family in 1897 and today operates 210 branches and three production facilities in Lübeck, Rostock and Greifswald. Junge Die Bäckerei. stands for a high level of vertical integration, distinctive operational excellence and efficiency.
