How alternative financing supports change processes

Many companies are facing fundamental, digital change processes. Adequate forms of funding are needed for this. If a company wishes to finance itself via sale and lease back, the first question to be addressed is which hidden reserves should be capitalized. In general, all assets are suitable, whether fleet, real estate, patents, trademarks, equipment or machinery.

Digitization has kept the economy on its toes for a long time. One industry that was hit very early by the effects of this major change process is the print shop industry: order numbers fell, a fierce price war broke out, and many companies had to give up. Some already saw the end of traditional print products with the triumph of digital media and the changes in reading habits brought about by the World Wide Web. In the meantime, however, it has become clear that this will probably not happen in the foreseeable future. Figures from the German Printing and Media Industries Federation (BVDM)1 show that the print sector continues to play an important economic role: according to these figures, print products generate more than half of net advertising revenues in Germany. At the same time, the industry’s sales have been moving steadily between 20 and 21 billion euros since 2009.
