ADCURAM completes acquisition of MEA AG
Munich — Munich-based industrial holding ADCURAM Group AG has acquired all shares in MEA AG of Aichach, Germany, following approval by the relevant competition authorities. The aim is to further accelerate the growth course of the tradition-steeped construction supplier and drive forward its expansion.
MEA AG, founded in 1886, is one of the leading suppliers to the construction industry. The products and solutions of the international group of companies span three business areas: Building Systems (with light wells, windows and other basement-related products), Water Management (drainage systems for buildings, roads and streetcar lines) and Metal Applications (primarily special gratings for industry and plant construction).
MEA employs around 700 people and has been growing continuously for years. The annual turnover is around 120 million euros. In addition to its headquarters in Aichach near Augsburg, the Group has production sites in France, the Czech Republic, Romania and China; it also has sales offices in numerous other important markets.
“All of MEA’s business areas have an excellent market position and represent an ideal basis for further growth. In addition to extensive investments in the sites and innovative strength, our long-term strategy also includes the development of new business areas,” explains Dr. Philipp Gusinde (photo), CEO of ADCURAM Group AG. “Given the still fragmented environment, acquisitions of companies in Germany and abroad that strategically complement MEA’s product and service portfolio are also possible.”
With extensive industry know-how from current and previous investments in industry and construction, ADCURAM will support the management team of MEA AG. In addition, colleagues from ADCURAM’s operational team of experts will assist in optimizing operational processes and market presence. “In view of the ongoing construction boom and the high international demand for quality products, the MEA Group with its strong brand has the best prerequisites to continue its success story,” said Henry Brickenkamp, designated Chairman of the Supervisory Board of MEA AG and CEO of ADCURAM. MEA CEO Dr. Manfred Hübener adds: “We are pleased to become part of an industrial group that stands for the successful and sustainable further development of numerous well-known companies. Together we will set the course to initiate the next growth step of MEA.”
