YPOG Advises Headline on EU Fund Generation VIII Totaling Over €400 Million
Berlin — Venture capital investor Headline has launched a new fund, Headline EU VIII, with a volume of $400 million. This is the eighth generation of European funds for the early-stage venture capital investor. — YPOG advised Headline on the structuring of the Headline EU VIII fund. Investors include KfW, the European Investment Fund, family offices, and companies such as the Otto Group.
Headline operates as a globally positioned venture capital investor with European roots and an investment focus that extends from Europe to the U.S., South America, and Asia. Its European investment activities date back to the early 2000s. With in-house teams in Berlin, Hamburg, Luxembourg, Paris, London, San Francisco, São Paulo, Taipei, and Tokyo, Headline combines deep local roots with the reach of a global player. Its European portfolio includes, among others, Mistral, Black Forest Labs, and Bioptimus.
Headline EU VIII is designed to support European startups in the seed phase and during Series A funding rounds. A key focus is on companies in the AI sector. In addition, the Global Growth Fund enables investments starting with Series B funding to support portfolio companies through later stages of growth.
“Successfully completing a fundraising round of this magnitude in the early-stage segment amid the current market conditions underscores investors’ enduring confidence in Headline and the team’s approach to European early-stage investments. With Headline EU VIII, the team is consistently continuing its commitment to European founders,” says Stephan Bank, partner at YPOG.
This advisory engagement builds on a long-standing partnership between YPOG and Headline: For many years, YPOG has supported Headline in structuring numerous fund vehicles, including the predecessor fund Headline EU VII, which had a volume of 320 million euros.
