SellerX expands financing round to 26 million euros
Berlin — SMP has again advised the startup SellerX in the course of a capital increase. The total volume of the extended financing round amounts to approximately 26 million euros and comes from lead investor 83North as well as existing investors Felix Capital, Cherry Ventures and other well-known business angels. Just a few months ago, SellerX announced the successful completion of a €100 million equity and debt financing led by Silicon Valley-based VC TriplePoint Capital, among others.
In the meantime, the Berlin-based company has bought up around 20 Amazon stores and is now planning to use the fresh capital to further expand its operating business. At least 50 more stores are to follow in the next year and a half. SellerX was comprehensively legally advised by SMP partner Martin Schaper together with Martyna Sabat and Matthias Kresser. The team had already provided legal support to the FBA buyer in the previous financing at the end of 2020 and also worked closely with Tomasz Krzywicki, General Counsel of SellerX, on this transaction.
SellerX is a VC-funded startup that buys and builds out Amazon stores. With its growing and diversified portfolio of FBA (Fulfillment by Amazon) sellers, SellerX aims to further optimize and grow its acquired businesses to establish sustainable consumer brands in the home, garden and pet supply categories. Art supplies, DIY tools, nutritional supplements, beauty products, baby products and fitness tools are also part of SellerX’s diverse portfolio. The Berlin-based company was founded in 2020 by Philipp Triebel and Malte Horeyseck (photo ) and says it currently employs around 120 people at its sites in Germany, the UK and the US.
