Lingotto Invests Again in RobCo in a Series C Round of Over €100 Million
Munich/Berlin/Milan — Lingotto is investing once again in the Munich-based robotics company RobCo. The transaction includes both new capital for the company and the sale of existing shares by long-time employees, and values RobCo at more than 1 billion USD. — In addition to Lingotto, existing investors Sequoia, Lightspeed, Greenfield, Kindred, and Promus Ventures are participating, as well as new investors, including Cherry Ventures and European Tech Collective.
RobCo develops autonomous robotics solutions for industrial applications. Founded in Munich in 2020, the company combines robotics with AI to automate production processes and address challenges such as the shortage of skilled workers, cost pressures, and workplace safety. The systems are offered through a Robotics-as-a-Service model, allowing them to be deployed without upfront investment. In addition to its Munich location, RobCo has manufacturing and assembly facilities in Austin and a development lab in San Francisco.
In the next phase of development, the company is focusing on advancing autonomous industrial robotics and expanding into the U.S. With its autonomous industrial robot Alfie, RobCo is developing a system that combines perception, planning, and execution and is designed to perform complex tasks in production environments. The commercial launch is scheduled for March 4, 2027, in Munich.
Morgan Samet, Co-Head of Lingotto Innovation, comments: “The industry has reached a point where autonomy is becoming a decisive competitive advantage. RobCo stands out because the company integrates physical AI directly into real-world production environments, combining proven implementations with a clear, step-by-step path to greater autonomy. This enables learning systems to support people where it matters most in production.”
“We are pleased to have advised Lingotto on another investment in RobCo. This engagement follows directly on from our advisory work on the Series C funding round. We thank the Lingotto team for their continued trust and close collaboration,” says Dr. Benjamin Ullrich, a partner at YPOG.
