Hanwha Aerospace plans to produce DefenseTech in Germany
Korea/Stuttgart — Gleiss Lutz is advising Hanwha Aerospace (“Hanwha”), a global leader in the defense and aerospace industry headquartered in South Korea, on its entry into the German defense market.
The core company of the Hanwha Group, one of South Korea’s largest industrial conglomerates and a Fortune 500 company, is planning substantial investments in Germany by establishing production facilities and partnerships with the German security and defense industry and regional suppliers. — The portfolio includes artillery systems, armored vehicles, precision-guided munitions, aircraft engines and satellite and space technologies.
With the establishment of its German subsidiary, Hanwha Defence Deutschland (HDD), Hanwha has reached a key milestone in its entry into the German market. This is part of a broader growth strategy to position Germany as a European hub for NATO-related defense activities and to strengthen the capabilities of the Bundeswehr and its European allies.
