Social engineering

Inter­per­so­nal influence with the aim of indu­cing certain beha­vi­ors in people, for exam­ple to persuade them to disc­lose confi­den­tial infor­ma­tion, purchase a product or release finan­cial resour­ces. At the same time, social engi­nee­ring stands for a prac­tice of poli­ti­cal and social control.
