Financial investor Armira raises new billion-euro fund
Berlin — YPOG has advised Munich-based private equity manager Armira, which specializes in partnerships with entrepreneurial and family-run “hidden champions”, on the structuring and launch of its latest fundraising program. The fund was closed above the hard cap and reaches a total volume of EUR 1 billion including co-investments. With this deal, the Armira platform now manages around 5 billion euros in capital. The significant oversubscription underlines the continued high demand from institutional and private investors for Armira’s entrepreneurial investment model.
Armira provides flexible capital of between 10 million and 1 billion euros and invests in both minority and majority shareholdings in order to support companies at decisive turning points — from growth acceleration and internationalization to succession and transformation processes. In Germany, the private equity manager acquired the Munich-based data transfer specialist FTAPI for 65 million euros together with the French financial investor Tikehau. Together with the billionaire Viessmann family, Armira acquired a stake in the Greek generics manufacturer Pharos.
The project marks another milestone in the long-standing cooperation between YPOG and Armira and included integrated legal, regulatory and tax advice across the entire investment platform.
“Placing a billion-dollar fund in the current market situation is a strong sign of Armira’s entrepreneurial model — and of the efficient, trust-based collaboration between our teams,” commented Dr. Stephan Bank, Partner at YPOG. “Armira’s latest fundraising is an important step in the platform’s development and we are proud to have helped shape a fund structure that will support Armira’s next phase of growth,” added Dr. Helder Schnittker, Partner at YPOG.
