HEUKING Advises metr on Its EUR 10.5 Million Series B Round
Berlin — PropTech company metr Building Management Systems has secured a new investor in SBG — Sächsische Beteiligungsgesellschaft mbH. In addition, Kachel GmbH (a subsidiary of WIKA Alexander Wiegand SE & Co. KG), IBB Capital GmbH, BRAWO Capital GmbH, Next Big Thing AG, and existing business angels once again participated in the financing round.
Ariane Neubauer, an equity partner at HEUKING’s Berlin office, and Dr. Henrik Lay, an equity partner at HEUKING’s Hamburg office, provided comprehensive advice to metr Building Management Systems GmbH in connection with its Series B financing round totaling approximately EUR 10.5 million.
In fiscal year 2025, metr increased its revenue by more than 80 percent compared to the previous year, achieved a net retention rate of over 140 percent, and now serves more than 80 clients in the housing industry, asset management, and corporate real estate sectors.
In addition to the strong key metrics, the decisive factors for the investment were, in particular, the proven product-market fit, the established technology, and the growth potential of the target market. metr is using the capital to further develop its technology, expand its operational infrastructure, and scale the platform further—including by establishing a hub in Saxony and preparing for international expansion.
The Series B funding round thus marks an important milestone for metr
It provides the financial foundation needed to further expand the company’s market position and initiate the next phase of growth. The company’s long-term goal is to become the leading European platform for energy-efficient existing buildings.
metr develops AI-based software solutions for optimizing energy consumption in existing buildings. The platform combines energy management and heating optimization into a single integrated solution, enabling significant energy savings—without the need for costly retrofits. Thanks to its universal compatibility with existing heating systems, building owners and property managers can improve the energy efficiency of their buildings, reduce operating costs, and safeguard property value over the long term.
