YPOG advises robotics startup Sereact on USD 110 million Series B investment
Berlin — YPOG provided legal advice to Stuttgart-based startup Seract on its Series B financing round. The round has a total volume of USD 110 million and was led by Headline. Other new investors include Bullhound Capital, Daphni and Felix Capital. Existing investors, including Creandum, Point Nine and Air Street Capital, participated again.
Sereact was founded by Dr. Ralf Gulde and Marc Tuscher in Stuttgart and develops AI models for robots that are used in the physical world. The company does not build its own hardware, but supplies Cortex, an AI model that runs on a wide variety of robot platforms, whether one-armed, two-armed, humanoid or stationary. The current Cortex 2 generation enables robots not only to react, but also to anticipate situations and update them in real time. Sereact is one of the world’s most widely used providers of AI picking robots, with over 200 systems in use in Europe and more than one billion production picks completed. Its customers include BMW, Daimler Truck, DHL, Mercedes-Benz, PepsiCo and Austrian Post.
The fresh capital will be used to scale Cortex 2 and enter the US market. Sereact plans to open its first US office in Boston and build up a local sales, application and engineering team. The next strategic thrust is the area of contact-based work, such as the precise assembly of components or the insertion of sensitive components without damaging them.
Sereact had already closed a Series A round led by Creandum in January 2025, on which YPOG also advised.
