Seed round of USD 41 million for acoustics start-up Mirelo AI
Tübingen — The Tübingen-based audio start-up Mirelo AI has raised 41 million US dollars in a seed round. The round was jointly led by renowned investors Index Ventures and Andreessen Horowitz (a16z). Other investors include Atlantic.vc and TriplePoint Capital. YPOG provided comprehensive legal advice to Mirelo AI on the financing round.
Mirelo AI was founded in Tübingen in 2023 and develops AI models for the automated generation of sound effects for moving image applications. The technology aims to simplify and redefine the creation of sounds for advertising, games and film productions. Sound effects can be generated, edited and automatically synchronized on the basis of video material. The basic technology is considered promising for applications in the creative and media industry.
Mirelo AI intends to use the financing to grow faster, in particular to prepare for market entry, drive forward the further development of its models and expand the team. In addition to international venture capital investors, the company is supported by renowned personalities from research and industry.
Mirelo AI announces: “Our overarching mission is to become the audio platform for all visual content, including videos, games, social media and movies. We are now looking for people who want to join us in shaping this future — a future where Mirelo revolutionizes the way everyone works with sound and helps bring more emotion and impact to audiovisual content worldwide.”
“Mirelo AI combines a highly specialized AI application with a scientific foundation. The financing round creates a strong basis for further scaling the technology and taking the next growth step,” says Dr. Adrian Haase, Partner at YPOG.
