SHS Capital acquires Curatec Services with subsidiary MTR
Tübingen — Healthcare specialist SHS Capital, together with its portfolio company Medizintechnik Rostock GmbH (MTR), is acquiring Curatec Services GmbH, a specialized provider of medical electrostimulation and rehabilitation devices.
The aim of the transaction is to ensure the successful succession of Curatec, to expand MTR’s product portfolio in the field of neurological applications, functional electrical stimulation (FES) and incontinence therapy and to further expand the joint market position in the field of electrical stimulation.
Curatec, based in North Rhine-Westphalia, has more than 25 years of experience in home electrostimulation therapy and has earned an excellent reputation with high-quality medical products, a strong patient-oriented service and established relationships with clinics, specialist practices, homecare providers and statutory health insurance companies.
“We are delighted that SHS will continue and further expand our business together with MTR. Our greatest concern was to ensure that the trust in the quality of our work that has been built up over many years remains intact and continues to benefit the patients who so urgently need our products,” says Curatec Managing Director Rainer Eckert.
“By acquiring Curatec, we are strengthening our joint market presence and will have an even more comprehensive product portfolio in the field of electrostimulation therapy in future. This partnership creates an excellent basis for further growth and the highest quality in patient care,” comments MTR Managing Director Andreas Markschies.
“This acquisition exemplifies SHS’s approach of successfully leading innovative medical technology companies into the next generation, creating sustainable succession solutions and thus securing patient care in the long term. We are delighted to have found a company in Curatec that ideally complements MTR both in terms of its product portfolio and its regional presence,” explains SHS Senior Investment Manager Tobias Fuchs (photo: SHS).
