Since 2005, the German govern\u00adment has ther\u00ade\u00adfore been inves\u00adt\u00ading heavily in these areas. In 2013, Germany spent over 80 billion euros on rese\u00adarch and deve\u00adlo\u00adp\u00adment, more than any other coun\u00adtry in Europe. As a DIW study has shown, stron\u00adger growth in over\u00adall econo\u00admic rese\u00adarch spen\u00adding alre\u00adady leads to an increase in GDP in the short term. In Germany, this effect is even stron\u00adger than average.<\/p>\n

We will ther\u00ade\u00adfore further inten\u00adsify our efforts and upgrade them both finan\u00adci\u00adally and struc\u00adtu\u00adrally. With its new high-tech stra\u00adtegy, the German govern\u00adment has aligned its inno\u00adva\u00adtion policy along six future tasks to the imple\u00admen\u00adta\u00adtion of socie\u00adtal needs and new value crea\u00adtion poten\u00adti\u00adals.
