Munich\/Halberstadt\/London (UK) \u2013 Infle\u00adxion, a leading Euro\u00adpean private equity firm focu\u00adsed on mid-market compa\u00adnies, has agreed to acquire the Primed Group (\u201cPrimed\u201d). Primed is a German specialty provi\u00adder of high-quality medi\u00adcal consu\u00adma\u00adbles and steri\u00adliza\u00adtion services. The seller is Para\u00adgon Part\u00adners, a private equity firm focu\u00adsed on the DACH region. The invest\u00adment is being made through the Infle\u00adxion Buyout Fund VI and marks Inflexion\u2019s sixth invest\u00adment in the DACH region. <\/p>\n

Primed was foun\u00added in 1946 and is head\u00adquar\u00adte\u00adred in Halber\u00adstadt. The company deve\u00adlops, manu\u00adfac\u00adtures, and distri\u00adbu\u00adtes certi\u00adfied single-use medi\u00adcal supplies. Primed employs more than 450 people and opera\u00adtes a verti\u00adcally inte\u00adgra\u00adted plat\u00adform that covers the entire value chain\u2014from the proces\u00adsing of raw mate\u00adri\u00adals to the sterile end product. The products, certi\u00adfied in accordance with the Euro\u00adpean Medi\u00adcal Device Regu\u00adla\u00adtion (MDR), are used in hospi\u00adtals and health\u00adcare faci\u00adli\u00adties in over 70 count\u00adries. Primed also opera\u00adtes HA2, one of Europe\u2019s largest plat\u00adforms for medi\u00adcal sterilization. <\/p>\n

The global market for medi\u00adcal consu\u00adma\u00adbles is large and conti\u00adnues to grow. For Primed, this provi\u00addes a strong foun\u00adda\u00adtion for further expan\u00adsion in Germany and inter\u00adna\u00adtio\u00adnally. With Infle\u00adxion as its new owner, Primed will conti\u00adnue to invest in its core product line, acce\u00adle\u00adrate product deve\u00adlo\u00adp\u00adment, and expand its steri\u00adliza\u00adtion busi\u00adness. Infle\u00adxion will also support manage\u00adment in its inter\u00adna\u00adtio\u00adnal expansion\u2014through targe\u00adted acqui\u00adsi\u00adti\u00adons and invest\u00adments in commer\u00adcial capa\u00adbi\u00adli\u00adties to streng\u00adthen Primed\u2019s direct access to custo\u00admers in key markets. The invest\u00adment unders\u00adcores Inflexion\u2019s commit\u00adment to part\u00adne\u00adring with leading health\u00adcare compa\u00adnies in their local markets and support\u00ading their long-term success. <\/p>\n

For this tran\u00adsac\u00adtion, Infle\u00adxion is colla\u00adbo\u00adra\u00adting with health\u00adcare experts Wolf\u00adgang S\u00fc\u00dfle and Justin Barnes; both will serve on Primed\u2019s Board of Direc\u00adtors. Wolf\u00adgang S\u00fc\u00dfle has more than 25 years of expe\u00adri\u00adence in the health\u00adcare indus\u00adtry, inclu\u00adding 15 years as CEO and Presi\u00addent of Lohmann & Rauscher. Justin Barnes brings more than 25 years of expe\u00adri\u00adence in the medi\u00adcal tech\u00adno\u00adlogy sector. He has co-foun\u00added seve\u00adral compa\u00adnies and held execu\u00adtive posi\u00adti\u00adons, inclu\u00adding as CEO of 30 Tech\u00adno\u00adlogy and as a non-execu\u00adtive direc\u00adtor of Rayner.
