This is more than double the size of its prede\u00adces\u00adsor fund with a volume of EUR 300 million. The Fund will invest in compa\u00adnies focu\u00adsed on the struc\u00adtu\u00adral growth trend of decar\u00adbo\u00adniza\u00adtion. The invest\u00adment focus of Idun II is on inves\u00adt\u00ading in ambi\u00adtious growth compa\u00adnies that contri\u00adbute to more sustainable social deve\u00adlo\u00adp\u00adment. Idun II is <strong>a fund clas\u00adsi\u00adfied under Article 9 of the EU Finan\u00adcial Infor\u00adma\u00adtion Regu\u00adla\u00adtion<\/strong>, which will focus on invest\u00adments in the areas of energy tran\u00adsi\u00adtion and resource effi\u00adci\u00adency that contri\u00adbute to the decar\u00adbo\u00adniza\u00adtion of the economy. The Idun funds each invest between 20 and 100 million euros in sustainable compa\u00adnies. All Idun II invest\u00adments are linked to strict sustaina\u00adbi\u00adlity crite\u00adria in order to make their posi\u00adtive impact on the envi\u00adron\u00adment measura\u00adble. This includes, for exam\u00adple, the goal of avoi\u00adding at least 5,000 tons of CO2 for every million euros inves\u00adted. Verdane has offices in Berlin, Copen\u00adha\u00adgen, Helsinki, London, Munich, Stock\u00adholm and Oslo. To ensure that Idun II only invests in compa\u00adnies that have the poten\u00adtial to be successful in a sustainable econo\u00admic envi\u00adron\u00adment, Verdane applies its own so-called \u201c2040 test\u201d. Verdane successfully closed the Edda III mid-market growth buyout fund at the begin\u00adning of the year with a hard cap of 1.1 billion euros. This brought Verda\u00adne\u2019s assets under manage\u00adment to over 8 billion euros. The third fund stra\u00adtegy, Freya, which has been successful for more than 20 years, curr\u00adently invests through the Freya XI fund with a sophisti\u00adca\u00adted and broadly diver\u00adsi\u00adfied mandate that invests in both company port\u00adfo\u00adlios and indi\u00advi\u00addual compa\u00adnies. Verdane is a pioneer in sustainable invest\u00adments and has supported a total of 42 compa\u00adnies in this area since 2003. The invest\u00adment company has deve\u00adlo\u00adped a unique approach to measu\u00adring CO2 avoid\u00adance (more infor\u00adma\u00adtion can be found in the corre\u00adspon\u00adding white paper on Verda\u00adne\u2019s home\u00adpage) and carries out a compre\u00adhen\u00adsive sustaina\u00adbi\u00adlity assess\u00adment for all compa\u00adnies in the Idun port\u00adfo\u00adlio. Current invest\u00adments in the first Idun fund include NORNORM, a provi\u00adder of inno\u00adva\u00adtive office furni\u00adture rental models that enable compa\u00adnies to reduce their green\u00adhouse gas emis\u00adsi\u00adons, and Scan\u00adbio, a leading produ\u00adcer of high-quality fish protein concen\u00adtra\u00adtes and oils that specia\u00adli\u00adzes in the recy\u00adcling of resi\u00addual products and enables compa\u00adnies to reduce the use of resource-inten\u00adsive raw materials.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Idun II has capi\u00adtal commit\u00adments from inves\u00adtors inclu\u00adding Nysn\u00f8 Climate Invest\u00adments, the Norwe\u00adgian state climate invest\u00adment fund, Banque de Luxem\u00adbourg, the Euro\u00adpean Invest\u00adment Fund, MN, a provi\u00adder of fidu\u00adciary services to Dutch pension funds, the Finnish invest\u00adment company Tesi and Carbon Equity, a provi\u00adder that enables private and profes\u00adsio\u00adnal inves\u00adtors to invest in a diver\u00adsi\u00adfied port\u00adfo\u00adlio of the worl\u00add\u2019s best climate funds. Other inves\u00adtors in Idun II include seve\u00adral global private and public pension funds, leading univer\u00adsity funds, foun\u00adda\u00adti\u00adons, insu\u00adrance compa\u00adnies and family offices. The fund was closed within just five months. Most of the commit\u00adments for Idun II come from non-profit orga\u00adniza\u00adti\u00adons and inves\u00adtors commit\u00adted to the common good. \u2014 Verda\u00adne\u2019s inter\u00adna\u00adtio\u00adnal inves\u00adtor base is growing conti\u00adnuously. In total, inves\u00adtors from more than 13 count\u00adries are parti\u00adci\u00adpa\u00adting in Idun II. US inves\u00adtors alone account for 29 percent of the capi\u00adtal commit\u00adments.
