The Essen-based early-stage fund raised a total of EUR 31 million from inves\u00adtors. The invest\u00adment focus is on inno\u00adva\u00adtive, tech\u00adno\u00adlogy-orien\u00adted start-ups from the Ruhr area and neigh\u00adbor\u00ading regi\u00adons. \u201cIn order to shape the future in North Rhine-West\u00adpha\u00adlia, we need a faster pace of inno\u00adva\u00adtion and more ideas from inno\u00adva\u00adtive start-ups. This needs to be finan\u00adced,\u201d says <strong>Johanna Anto\u00adnie Tjaden-Schulte, Member of the Mana\u00adging Board of NRW.BANK <\/strong>(photo \u00a9 NRW.BANK)<strong>.<\/strong> \u201cWith our parti\u00adci\u00adpa\u00adtion in Gr\u00fcn\u00adder\u00adfonds Ruhr II, we want to do even more to promote the poten\u00adtial that exists in the Ruhr region with its dense rese\u00adarch land\u00adscape and urban envi\u00adron\u00adment.\u201d Gr\u00fcn\u00adder\u00adfonds Ruhr II is mana\u00adged by Ruhr\u00adgr\u00fcn\u00adder Manage\u00adment GmbH under the leader\u00adship of<strong> Ann-Chris\u00adtin Kortenbrede <\/strong>and <strong>Jan Gr\u00e4fe<\/strong>. Both have exten\u00adsive expe\u00adri\u00adence in support\u00ading young growth compa\u00adnies and are actively shaping the stra\u00adte\u00adgic direc\u00adtion of the fund. The aim is to acquire further fund commit\u00adments over the next twelve months in order to reach the target volume of 50 million euros. In coope\u00adra\u00adtion with Initia\u00adtiv\u00adkreis Ruhr and NRW.BANK, Gr\u00fcn\u00adder\u00adfonds Ruhr offers not only early-stage finan\u00adcing but also a strong part\u00adner network, direct access to the indus\u00adtry and valuable know-how for start-ups. The fund focu\u00adses on compa\u00adnies from the chemi\u00adcals and new mate\u00adri\u00adals, energy and indus\u00adtry, life scien\u00adces and health\u00adcare, logi\u00adstics and digi\u00adtal economy sectors. Initia\u00adtiv\u00adkreis Ruhr and NRW.BANK initia\u00adted the first edition of Gr\u00fcn\u00adder\u00adfonds Ruhr with a volume of EUR 34.5 million in 2017.
