Munich \u2014 KEYOU, the pioneer of CO2-neutral hydro\u00adgen mobi\u00adlity, has closed the first part of its Series B finan\u00adcing round with a double-digit million amount. The finan\u00adcing round is led by DILO Arma\u00adtu\u00adren und Anla\u00adgen GmbH, which has inves\u00adted a large seven-figure sum in KEYOU. Other inves\u00adtors include the Euro\u00adpean Inno\u00adva\u00adtion Coun\u00adcil (EIC), the BESTO GmbH \u201cFamily Office\u201d of the two Swabian entre\u00adpre\u00adneu\u00adrial fami\u00adlies Beyer and Stoll (FESTO indus\u00adtrial group) and Baywo\u00adbau, which alre\u00adady inves\u00adted in KEYOU as part of the Series A finan\u00adcing round. The funds will prima\u00adrily be used to build up the pioneer fleet and to adapt the KEYOU-inside system to a 40-ton semi\u00adt\u00adrai\u00adler tractor.

\nFollo\u00adwing the successful conclu\u00adsion of the first part of the finan\u00adcing round, the Munich-based hydro\u00adgen expert is alre\u00adady in talks with other poten\u00adtial inves\u00adtors. The Series B round, which is expec\u00adted to be comple\u00adted by the end of the year, is expec\u00adted to raise a total of around EUR 35 million<\/strong>. KEYOU intends to use the fresh capi\u00adtal prima\u00adrily to drive forward the expan\u00adsion of its pionee\u00adring fleet, the further deve\u00adlo\u00adp\u00adment and adapt\u00ada\u00adtion of the KEYOU-inside system to a 40-ton arti\u00adcu\u00adla\u00adted truck for the commer\u00adcial roll\u00adout of its \u201cH2Mobility as a Service\u201d solu\u00adtion (H2MaaS) and the further struc\u00adtu\u00adral and person\u00adnel expan\u00adsion of the company. DILO is not only in the role of inves\u00adtor, but is also laun\u00adching its first joint project with KEYOU.<\/p>\n

With DILO, KEYOU has gained another important stra\u00adte\u00adgic inves\u00adtor. The leading gas specia\u00adlist from Bava\u00adria deve\u00adlops inte\u00adgra\u00adted solu\u00adti\u00adons for profes\u00adsio\u00adnal, emis\u00adsion-free gas manage\u00adment and intends to further expand its busi\u00adness acti\u00advi\u00adties in the promi\u00adsing hydro\u00adgen segment. The coope\u00adra\u00adtion between the two compa\u00adnies is corre\u00adspon\u00addin\u00adgly promi\u00adsing. The first concrete project coope\u00adra\u00adtion has alre\u00adady begun. KEYOU is support\u00ading DILO with its H2 exper\u00adtise in the deve\u00adlo\u00adp\u00adment of a univer\u00adsal H2 service device for work\u00adshops that reli\u00ade\u00adves employees of all hydro\u00adgen-rela\u00adted work. The aim of the deve\u00adlo\u00adp\u00adment is to qualify more work\u00adshops to work with hydro\u00adgen vehic\u00adles and to conti\u00adnuously expand the H2 work\u00adshop network in line with the incre\u00adasing number of vehic\u00adles and hydro\u00adgen regions.<\/p>\n

In future, the H2 service tool will auto\u00admate basic service func\u00adtions that could previously only be carried out by speci\u00adally trai\u00adned person\u00adnel. Details of this device will be announ\u00adced at a later date. At the moment, DILO and KEYOU are only announ\u00adcing that it will be a comple\u00adtely new device with inno\u00adva\u00adtive func\u00adtions that are not yet available on the market.<\/p>\n

The human factor was a key factor

Market entry with 18-ton trucks, 40-ton trucks in preparation

\nKEYOU will deli\u00adver its first 18-ton pioneer vehic\u00adles to pilot custo\u00admers this year and thus complete its market entry. This is the first time the company intends to demons\u00adtrate the market matu\u00adrity of its conver\u00adsion tech\u00adno\u00adlogy and prepare the market for further scaling.<\/p>\n

KEYOU is alre\u00adady working on larger motors to address the heavy-duty segment in the near future, as this is where the company sees the grea\u00adtest poten\u00adtial in the coming years. A look at the TCO (total cost of owner\u00adship) of KEYOU\u2019s 40-ton H2 truck shows that it is signi\u00adfi\u00adcantly chea\u00adper than battery and fuel cell trucks simply due to econo\u00admies of scale and toll exemp\u00adti\u00adons.
