The finan\u00adcing round, the largest ever raised by a Euro\u00adpean battery recy\u00adcling company, was comple\u00adted less than 24 months after the start of operations.<\/p>\n<p>The round was led by Euro\u00adpe\u2019s leading climate-tech VC, World Fund, and Porsche Ventures, the venture arm of sports car manu\u00adfac\u00adtu\u00adrer Porsche AG. Other inves\u00adtors include Bosch Ventures, DeepT\u00adech &amp; Climate Fonds, NRW.Venture as well as exis\u00adting inves\u00adtors 10x Foun\u00adders, Vsquared Ventures, Speed\u00adin\u00advest and well-known busi\u00adness angels.<\/p>\n<p>The finan\u00adcing round is the first venture co-invest\u00adment by the indus\u00adtrial giants Porsche and Bosch in Germany. At the same time, expe\u00adri\u00aden\u00adced inves\u00adtors from the climate and deep tech sectors, the auto\u00admo\u00adtive sector, indus\u00adtry and insti\u00adtu\u00adtio\u00adnal inves\u00adtors are inves\u00adt\u00ading toge\u00adther in a battery recy\u00adcling company for the first time. This under\u00adlines the joint effort to build a sustainable battery infra\u00adstruc\u00adture in Europe.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cylib<\/strong> was foun\u00added in 2022 as a spin-off of RWTH Aachen Univer\u00adsity by <strong>Lilian Schwich (CEO), Paul Sabarny <\/strong>and<strong> Dr. Gideon Schwich<\/strong> and specia\u00adli\u00adzes in the hydro\u00adme\u00adtall\u00adur\u00adgi\u00adcal recy\u00adcling of used lithium-ion cells. \u2014 The company offers a market-leading tech\u00adno\u00adlogy for the end-to-end recy\u00adcling of lithium-ion batte\u00adries and has alre\u00adady reali\u00adzed a successful pilot line and projects with major car manu\u00adfac\u00adtu\u00adr\u00aders and battery producers.<\/p>\n<p>The fresh capi\u00adtal will be used to drive forward the indus\u00adtrial scaling of produc\u00adtion and the expan\u00adsion of the inter\u00addi\u00adsci\u00adpli\u00adnary team.
