BRAIN intends to conti\u00adnue inves\u00adt\u00ading in rese\u00adarch and deve\u00adlo\u00adp\u00adment work as well as in labo\u00adra\u00adtory and produc\u00adtion facilities.<\/p>\n<p>BRAIN Biotech AG (\u201cBRAIN\u201d) was foun\u00added in 1993 in Zwin\u00adgen\u00adberg, Hesse, and was one of the pioneers in the field of indus\u00adtrial biotech\u00adno\u00adlogy. Today, it is one of the leading Euro\u00adpean compa\u00adnies in the field of enzyme tech\u00adno\u00adlogy, among others. Since its foun\u00adda\u00adtion, the company has deve\u00adlo\u00adped from a service provi\u00adder specia\u00adli\u00adzing in rese\u00adarch and deve\u00adlo\u00adp\u00adment to a group of compa\u00adnies with an exten\u00adsive scien\u00adti\u00adfic services and product busi\u00adness for the B2B market. BRAIN focu\u00adses on the areas of nutri\u00adtion, health and the envi\u00adron\u00adment. The acti\u00advi\u00adties of the BRAIN Group, with a total of 330 employees, 120 of whom are based in Zwin\u00adgen\u00adberg, are divi\u00added into three divi\u00adsi\u00adons: The <strong>BioIn\u00addus\u00adtrial<\/strong> divi\u00adsion focu\u00adses on the product busi\u00adness, while the <strong>BioSci\u00adence<\/strong> divi\u00adsion compri\u00adses the rese\u00adarch and deve\u00adlo\u00adp\u00adment busi\u00adness on behalf of custo\u00admers. In the <strong>BioIn\u00adcu\u00adba\u00adtor<\/strong> segment, the company carries out its own R&amp;D projects or those initia\u00adted with part\u00adners with high commer\u00adcial potential.<\/p>\n<p>Speci\u00adfi\u00adcally, bio-based products in the area of nutri\u00adtion, for exam\u00adple, involve alter\u00adna\u00adtive protein and food sources based on micro\u00ador\u00adga\u00adnisms or cell cultures. In the health\u00adcare sector, BRAIN deve\u00adlops phar\u00admaceu\u00adti\u00adcally active ingre\u00addi\u00adents for the treat\u00adment of chro\u00adnic wounds and rare dise\u00ada\u00adses, among other things. BRAIN now covers the entire value chain for specialty enzy\u00admes \u2014 from deve\u00adlo\u00adp\u00adment to fermen\u00adta\u00adtion and produc\u00adtion on an indus\u00adtrial&nbsp;scale.<\/p>\n<p>With the finan\u00adcing round that has now been concluded, the company intends to further expand its rese\u00adarch and deve\u00adlo\u00adp\u00adment acti\u00advi\u00adties.
