Paris \u2014 The PEARL and Edmond de Roth\u00adschild Private Equity teams announce the third closing of their new PEARL Infra\u00adstruc\u00adture Capi\u00adtal II SCA fund, RAIF, which closed on Febru\u00adary 28, 2024 with a volume of EUR 306 million. This result comes seven months after the first closing of the fund and corre\u00adsponds to the target of EUR 400 million.<\/p>\n

PEARL II is an invest\u00adment fund specia\u00adli\u00adzing in the majo\u00adrity finan\u00adcing of envi\u00adron\u00admen\u00adtal infra\u00adstruc\u00adture projects in Europe. These projects include rene\u00adwa\u00adble energy produc\u00adtion, waste recy\u00adcling and the circu\u00adlar economy and are prima\u00adrily aimed at large indus\u00adtrial groups and local autho\u00adri\u00adties facing the dual chall\u00adenge of ecolo\u00adgi\u00adcal and energy transformation.<\/p>\n
PEARL II is charac\u00adte\u00adri\u00adzed by its commit\u00adment to rene\u00adwa\u00adble base load energy carri\u00aders that meet the indus\u00adtry\u2019s decar\u00adbo\u00adniza\u00adtion goals while meeting the requi\u00adre\u00adments for the conti\u00adnuous opera\u00adtion of indus\u00adtrial and heating networks. The fund\u2019s invest\u00adments will focus on various segments, inclu\u00adding biomass, biogas, biome\u00adthane, solid and liquid biofuels for the trans\u00adport sector (inclu\u00adding AFS), green hydro\u00adgen, geother\u00admal energy and waste recycling.<\/p>\n
PEARL II is clas\u00adsi\u00adfied as Article 9 under the EU SFDR, bears the Green\u00adfin label and complies with at least 66 percent of the Euro\u00adpean taxonomy.<\/p>\n
In line with its road\u00admap, PEARL fully placed its first vintage fund, PEARL Infra\u00adstruc\u00adture Capi\u00adtal I SCA, RAIF, within two and a half years of the final closing in March 2020. In this context, PEARL has reached a decisive mile\u00adstone for its latest green\u00adfield invest\u00adment after one and a half years of cons\u00adtruc\u00adtion: the Green Valley Ener\u00adgie biomass coge\u00adnera\u00adtion plant in the Vosges (France), which will go into opera\u00adtion with the first cold tests. Green Valley Ener\u00adgie, which is sche\u00addu\u00adled to be fully opera\u00adtio\u00adnal in summer 2024, will be the largest biomass coge\u00adnera\u00adtion plant based on wood waste in France with a capa\u00adcity of 100 MWth of carbon-free heat and 25 MWe of rene\u00adwa\u00adble elec\u00adtri\u00adcity gene\u00adra\u00adtion. The plant will gene\u00adrate more than 900 GWh\/year of rene\u00adwa\u00adble energy (elec\u00adtri\u00adcity and heat) and avoid the emis\u00adsion of 213,000 tCO2eq per year.<\/p>\n
