Berlin \u2014 Green Gene\u00adra\u00adtion Fund was advi\u00adsed on its $16 million seed finan\u00adcing of Swiss AI start-up Jua by YPOG toge\u00adther with Swiss law firm Wenger Vieli. The round was led by the Green Gene\u00adra\u00adtion Fund toge\u00adther with 468 Capi\u00adtal. Other inves\u00adtors include Promus Ventures, Kadmos Capi\u00adtal, the foun\u00adders of Flix Mobi\u00adlity, Session.vc, Virtus Resour\u00adces Part\u00adners, Notion.vc and InnoSuisse.<\/p>\n

Foun\u00added in 2022 by Andreas Bren\u00adner and Marvin Gabler, the Swiss start-up has deve\u00adlo\u00adped a weather fore\u00adcas\u00adting plat\u00adform based on arti\u00adfi\u00adcial intel\u00adli\u00adgence that can be used to display custo\u00admi\u00adzed, high-reso\u00adlu\u00adtion weather models.<\/p>\n

Big AI models \u2014 the large amounts of voice, image and audio data that power gene\u00adra\u00adtive arti\u00adfi\u00adcial intel\u00adli\u00adgence services \u2014 will be as important to the deve\u00adlo\u00adp\u00adment of AI as opera\u00adting systems are to the deve\u00adlo\u00adp\u00adment of smart\u00adphones: in a sense, they look like the plat\u00adforms of the space (an idea that others are also tinke\u00adring with). Now a Swiss startup called Jua is using this para\u00addigm with the aim of crea\u00adting a new fron\u00adtier for the use of AI in the physi\u00adcal world. The company has recei\u00adved 16 million dollars to deve\u00adlop a large \u201cphysics\u201d model for the natu\u00adral world.<\/p>\n

The company is still at a very early stage. Its first appli\u00adca\u00adtion will be the mode\u00adling and fore\u00adcas\u00adting of weather and climate patterns, initi\u00adally in rela\u00adtion to the play\u00aders in the energy indus\u00adtry. Accor\u00adding to the company, this will be intro\u00addu\u00adced in the coming weeks. Other sectors that the company is targe\u00adting with its model are agri\u00adcul\u00adture, insu\u00adrance, trans\u00adpor\u00adta\u00adtion and government.<\/p>\n
