Buch\u00aderer patron J\u00f6rg Buch\u00aderer has no descen\u00addants and ther\u00ade\u00adfore sought a viable, syner\u00adgi\u00adstic solu\u00adtion for his empire. Accor\u00adding to Buch\u00aderer, the take\u00adover still has to be appro\u00adved by the rele\u00advant compe\u00adti\u00adtion autho\u00adri\u00adties. This should be a mere forma\u00adlity, as Buch\u00aderer and Rolex operate in diffe\u00adrent markets \u2014 retail and watch\u00adma\u00adking. The two tradi\u00adtio\u00adnal houses have been working closely toge\u00adther since 1924, and Buch\u00aderer sells Swiss luxury watches and offers the offi\u00adcial repair service in over 100 specia\u00adlist stores worldwide.<\/p>\n

The company produ\u00adces about one million watches a year, accor\u00adding to Morgan Stan\u00adley esti\u00adma\u00adtes, gene\u00adra\u00adting sales of more than 10 billion Swiss francs. By compa\u00adri\u00adson, the second and third largest brands in terms of sales, Cartier (watches) and Omega, account for less than 3 billion Swiss francs. No other luxury watch brand produ\u00adces anywhere near as many watches as Rolex.<\/p>\n
