Having recently focu\u00adsed in parti\u00adcu\u00adlar on adding attrac\u00adtive compa\u00adnies to its invest\u00adment port\u00adfo\u00adlio and rapidly expan\u00adding its market posi\u00adtion through acqui\u00adsi\u00adti\u00adons, DBAG agreed three dispo\u00adsals in the first quar\u00adter of 2022\/2023 and a fourth in Febru\u00adary 2023. \u201cIt is parti\u00adcu\u00adlarly plea\u00adsing that these dispo\u00adsals relate to the two growth sectors of broad\u00adband tele\u00adcom\u00admu\u00adni\u00adca\u00adti\u00adons and IT services and soft\u00adware, as well as an invest\u00adment from Italy,\u201d comm\u00adents <strong>Tors\u00adten Grede, DBAG Board Spokes\u00adman<\/strong> (photo 1st from left). \u201cThis means that the stra\u00adte\u00adgic decis\u00adi\u00adons of broa\u00adde\u00adning our sector focus and expan\u00adding geogra\u00adphi\u00adcally into Italy are now bearing fruit. Even in the current chal\u00adlen\u00adging capi\u00adtal market envi\u00adron\u00adment, tran\u00adsac\u00adtions are taking place. This is eviden\u00adced by both our recent study published in coope\u00adra\u00adtion with FINANCE and our successful dispo\u00adsals,\u201d Grede continued.<\/p>\n<p>By selling its invest\u00adment in <strong>Cloudf\u00adlight<\/strong> in a chal\u00adlen\u00adging market, DBAG was able to realize more than four times the capi\u00adtal inves\u00adted. The sale of the invest\u00adment in <strong>Heytex<\/strong> marks the successful conclu\u00adsion of DBAG Fund V. DBAG Fund V is thus one of the most successful funds of its vintage for private equity invest\u00adments in Europe. In addi\u00adtion, the dispo\u00adsal of the invest\u00adment in <strong>Pmflex<\/strong> also marked the first dispo\u00adsal in Italy and was comple\u00adted in Janu\u00adary 2023. DBAG was thus able to realize more than twice the capi\u00adtal inves\u00adted after a holding period of just over two years. Finally, the sale of the stake in <strong>BTV Multi\u00adme\u00addia<\/strong> was agreed in Febru\u00adary, reali\u00adzing around three times the capi\u00adtal invested.<\/p>\n<p>The good start to the fiscal year is supported by posi\u00adtive capi\u00adtal market influen\u00adces. This affec\u00adted the entire breadth of our port\u00adfo\u00adlio, i.e. both busi\u00adness models with an indus\u00adtrial focus and busi\u00adness models in growth sectors. The chan\u00adgeo\u00adver to the 2023 budgets, which is custo\u00admary in the first quar\u00adter, also resul\u00adted in a posi\u00adtive contri\u00adbu\u00adtion to earnings. Due to the value reco\u00advery period, this also alre\u00adady takes into account the dispo\u00adsal of BTV Multi\u00adme\u00addia. In total, the net asset value increa\u00adses to 620.8 million euros. This is seven percent more than at the begin\u00adning of the fiscal year.<\/p>\n<p>The Fund Consul\u00adting segment deve\u00adlo\u00adped accor\u00adding to plan and gene\u00adra\u00adted earnings before taxes of 3.5 million euros (prior-year quar\u00adter: 3.7 million euros). Profit before tax in the Private Equity Invest\u00adments segment reached 38.4 million euros (prior-year quar\u00adter: \u201111.9 million euros). Over\u00adall, DBAG closes the first three months of finan\u00adcial year 2022\/2023 with conso\u00adli\u00adda\u00adted net income of 41.6 million euros (prior-year quar\u00adter: \u20118.2 million euros).<\/p>\n<p>Results for a single quar\u00adter cannot be extra\u00adpo\u00adla\u00adted to the full fiscal year. Due to DBAG\u2019s busi\u00adness model, the results of indi\u00advi\u00addual peri\u00adods, even directly conse\u00adcu\u00adtive ones, may differ significantly.<\/p>\n<p>The company\u2019s key perfor\u00admance indi\u00adca\u00adtors in the first quar\u00adter of 2022\/2023 are within the corri\u00addor of the fore\u00adcast published at the begin\u00adning of Decem\u00adber 2022; it is ther\u00ade\u00adfore unch\u00adan\u00adged.
