Climate and energy crisis, popu\u00adla\u00adtion growth, species extinc\u00adtion, fragile supply chains and incre\u00adasing resource scar\u00adcity: Circu\u00adlar Economy is a key to solving exis\u00adten\u00adtial crises. In line with the vision of a sustainable and people-cente\u00adred future for Germany and Europe, Unter\u00adneh\u00admer\u00adTUM aims to create a central plat\u00adform for the bund\u00adling and active shaping of such ideas in Munich. Circu\u00adlar economy is unders\u00adtood as a rege\u00adne\u00adra\u00adtive econo\u00admic system in which resour\u00adces are kept in cycles and whose goal is to decou\u00adple value crea\u00adtion from resource consump\u00adtion.<\/span>

Circu\u00adla\u00adrity works best in the ecosys\u00adtem<\/strong>

CIRCULAR REPUBLIC supports compa\u00adnies and start-ups in further deve\u00adlo\u00adping their inno\u00adva\u00adtions and ideas for the Circu\u00adlar Economy in line with market requi\u00adre\u00adments and trans\u00adforming them into concrete busi\u00adness models. In addi\u00adtion, the initia\u00adtive networks compa\u00adnies and start-ups with rele\u00advant play\u00aders from science, busi\u00adness and the venture capi\u00adtal indus\u00adtry. In this context, the inno\u00adva\u00adtion ecosys\u00adtem of Unter\u00adneh\u00admer\u00adTUM plays a crucial role: The initia\u00adtive speci\u00adfi\u00adcally offers access to the latest rese\u00adarch findings from the field of Circu\u00adlar Economy at Tech\u00adni\u00adsche Univer\u00adsi\u00adt\u00e4t M\u00fcnchen and itself provi\u00addes advice on entre\u00adpre\u00adneu\u00adrial issues and chal\u00adlenges. A central service also consists of directly networ\u00adking compa\u00adnies and start-ups in so-called \u201cmulti-stake\u00adhol\u00adder projects\u201d and acting as a joint plat\u00adform for the exch\u00adange of know\u00adledge and expe\u00adri\u00adence. The initia\u00adtive was laun\u00adched with foun\u00adding part\u00adner BMW<\/strong> AG. The first part\u00adner compa\u00adnies include SAP, PreZero <\/strong>and Tengel\u00admann<\/strong>.

Inter\u00addi\u00adsci\u00adpli\u00adnary foun\u00adding trio<\/strong>

To be able to fully address the field of Circu\u00adlar Economy, you need diverse perspec\u00adti\u00adves and a team with very diffe\u00adrent back\u00adgrounds. The foun\u00adding team of the initia\u00adtive includes Dr. Susanne Kadner, Dr. Matthias Ball\u00adweg <\/strong>and Niclas Mau\u00df<\/strong> (Photo \u00a9 CIRCULAR REPUBLIC). Kadner previously initia\u00adted and led the Circu\u00adlar Economy Initia\u00adtive Germany. Before joining CIRCULAR REPUBLIC, Ball\u00adweg was respon\u00adsi\u00adble for SYSTE\u00adMI\u00adQ\u2019s global Circu\u00adlar Economy acti\u00advi\u00adties and Mau\u00df initia\u00adted and estab\u00adlished Germany\u2019s largest Circu\u00adlar Economy rese\u00adarch network at the Tech\u00adni\u00adcal Univer\u00adsity of Munich.<\/span>

Multi-stake\u00adhol\u00adder approach<\/strong>

The first \u201cmulti-stake\u00adhol\u00adder project\u201d will focus on the textile indus\u00adtry \u2014 one of the least circu\u00adlar sectors of all. Start-ups alre\u00adady offer nume\u00adrous partial solu\u00adti\u00adons here \u2014 such as recy\u00adcling tech\u00adno\u00adlo\u00adgies \u2014 but there is a lack of a cross-indus\u00adtry solu\u00adtion that is now being jointly deve\u00adlo\u00adped. Another project will subse\u00adquently revolve around the recy\u00adcling of batte\u00adries. The findings deve\u00adlo\u00adped in the initia\u00adtive \u2014 for exam\u00adple, on the start-up land\u00adscape in the Circu\u00adlar Economy sector \u2014 will also be shared with the public. A speci\u00adally initia\u00adted festi\u00adval will take place in Munich from Novem\u00adber 15\u201318, 2023, and aims to bring toge\u00adther outstan\u00adding play\u00aders in the circu\u00adlar economy.<\/span>

Dr. Matthias Ball\u00adweg, Co-Foun\u00adder and Direc\u00adtor of CIRCULAR REPUBLIC, says: \u201cThe global deve\u00adlo\u00adp\u00adments around climate, lack of resour\u00adces or supply shorta\u00adges, as well as the accom\u00adpany\u00ading regu\u00adla\u00adtory conse\u00adquen\u00adces show: In the 30s of this century, there will no longer be a successful busi\u00adness model based on the explo\u00adita\u00adtion of primary raw mate\u00adri\u00adals.
