Munich \u2014 ARQIS advi\u00adsed SkyFive AG on its Pre-Series A finan\u00adcing round. The invest\u00adment round was led by a large insti\u00adtu\u00adtio\u00adnal inves\u00adtor from Germany. This joined exis\u00adting inves\u00adtors, all of whom doubled their initial invest\u00adment. In addi\u00adtion, two well-known private inves\u00adtors joined the company: Louis Belan\u00adger-Martin, serial entre\u00adpre\u00adneur and co-foun\u00adder of Global Eagle, and Alain Lejeune, an expe\u00adri\u00aden\u00adced mana\u00adger from the tele\u00adcom\u00admu\u00adni\u00adca\u00adti\u00adons indus\u00adtry with firm roots in China.<\/p>\n
SkyFive provi\u00addes high-speed broad\u00adband services to the avia\u00adtion indus\u00adtry \u2014 based on its paten\u00adted Air-To-Ground (A2G) solu\u00adtion that uses stan\u00addard mobile network compon\u00adents. A2G is the only tech\u00adno\u00adlogy that can serve the ever-growing demand for broad\u00adband connec\u00adti\u00advity in the sky. Here, broad\u00adband connec\u00adti\u00advity is a key factor in impro\u00adving opera\u00adtio\u00adnal effi\u00adci\u00adency, gene\u00adra\u00adting ancil\u00adlary reve\u00adnue, and also provi\u00adding a safer travel expe\u00adri\u00adence that requi\u00adres fewer cont\u00adacts and touches.<\/p>\n
SkyFi\u00adve\u2019s A2G solu\u00adtion is alre\u00adady deployed across Europe. Most recently, SkyFive signed an agree\u00adment with Airbus in August to provide an A2G solu\u00adtion for China, which has become the largest air-traf\u00adfic market. The capi\u00adtal from the current finan\u00adcing round will enable SkyFive to expand its services and acce\u00adle\u00adrate its global expansion.<\/p>\n
The ARQIS team around Dr. Mauritz von Einem and Prof. Dr. Chris\u00adtoph von Einem alre\u00adady supported SkyFive in the acqui\u00adsi\u00adtion of the key assets of Noki\u00ada\u2019s A2G busi\u00adness as well as in the seed finan\u00adcing at the end of last year. In the run-up to the current finan\u00adcing round, ARQIS had also mana\u00adged the conver\u00adsion of SkyFive into a public company in the summer of 2020. Curr\u00adently, ARQIS is alre\u00adady mana\u00adging nego\u00adtia\u00adti\u00adons with a number of inter\u00adna\u00adtio\u00adnal insti\u00adtu\u00adtio\u00adnal inves\u00adtors for the Series A finan\u00adcing round that SkyFive aims to close in early 2021.<\/p>\n
