Inves\u00adtors can use the plat\u00adform to invest in sustainable compa\u00adnies from as little as 1,000 Swiss francs. Zurich \u2014 Yova, an impact inves\u00adt\u00ading plat\u00adform foun\u00added in Zurich in 2017, raises CHF 11 million in a recently closed funding round. Yova is finan\u00adced by well-known inves\u00adtors, inclu\u00adding Carole Acker\u00admann (CEO at Diamonds\u00adcull; VR at BKW, BVZ, BNP Pari\u00adbas Switz\u00ader\u00adland, Alli\u00adanz Suisse and others) or Chris\u00adtoph Sutter (Axpo, foun\u00adder of South\u00adpole as well as mycli\u00admate) as well as the Swiss Fede\u00adral Tech\u00adno\u00adlogy Fund.<\/p>\n
\u201cYova strikes a chord with the times, and espe\u00adci\u00adally with the youn\u00adger gene\u00adra\u00adtion,\u201d explains Carole Acker\u00admann. \u201cYoung people want to help shape a sustainable world, but don\u2019t want to miss out on a trans\u00adpa\u00adrent and tech\u00adno\u00adlo\u00adgi\u00adcally state-of-the-art one.\u201d Till\u00admann Lang, CEO and co-foun\u00adder of Yova adds, \u201cThese funds will allow us to move forward with our Euro\u00adpean expan\u00adsion in a timely manner and at full speed, in addi\u00adtion to expan\u00adding our Swiss busi\u00adness. As a result, this funding round was almost three times the size of April 2020.\u201d In the first four months of this year, the number of custo\u00admers has alre\u00adady almost doubled. Yova is growing prima\u00adrily from its own custo\u00admer base: every second new custo\u00admer comes via recom\u00admen\u00adda\u00adti\u00adons from exis\u00adting custo\u00admers, i.e. from Yova\u2019s own commu\u00adnity. Yova is curr\u00adently expan\u00adding its team. In addi\u00adtion to the exis\u00adting 30 employees, 20 further posi\u00adti\u00adons are curr\u00adently to be filled in the short term.<\/p>\n
As a further step towards success, Yova reports funding from the Swiss Tech\u00adno\u00adlogy Fund of 3 million Swiss francs. This fund, estab\u00adlished by the Swiss Confe\u00adde\u00adra\u00adtion, guaran\u00adtees loans to Swiss compa\u00adnies whose inno\u00adva\u00adtive products enable a sustainable reduc\u00adtion in green\u00adhouse gas emis\u00adsi\u00adons. The promise of support from the Fede\u00adral Office for the Envi\u00adron\u00adment (FOEN) attests that Yova and its impact inves\u00adtors are successfully doing just that. Yova\u2019s strong growth has alre\u00adady resul\u00adted in a CO2 reduc\u00adtion of more than 10\u2018000 tons in its port\u00adfo\u00adlios over the past year.<\/p>\n
Sustainable invest\u00adments for everyone The custo\u00admer then crea\u00adtes his indi\u00advi\u00addual risk profile and recei\u00adves sugges\u00adti\u00adons from a mix of 400 compa\u00adnies in which Yova invests for him based on his previous infor\u00adma\u00adtion and atti\u00adtude. The user can addi\u00adtio\u00adnally indi\u00advi\u00addua\u00adlize his company mix and add his favo\u00adri\u00adtes from over 800 addi\u00adtio\u00adnal companies.<\/p>\n Yova invests only in publicly traded compa\u00adnies, in large mid- and large-caps, from wind turbine manu\u00adfac\u00adtu\u00adr\u00aders to Beyond Meat to Tesla. The final port\u00adfo\u00adlio consists of 30 to 40 stocks diver\u00adsi\u00adfied across diffe\u00adrent indus\u00adtries, count\u00adries, curren\u00adcies and company sizes. In addi\u00adtion to equi\u00adties, each stra\u00adtegy also conta\u00adins govern\u00adment bonds. The costs range from 0.6 to 1.2 percent, depen\u00adding on the invest\u00adment amount.
