In the context of a manage\u00adment buy-out (MBO), DBAG Fund VIII, which is advi\u00adsed by DBAG, will acquire the majo\u00adrity of the shares from the foun\u00adding share\u00adhol\u00adders. DBAG will invest around <strong>23 million euros<\/strong> along\u00adside the fund; in future, it will hold around 20 percent of the shares. In addi\u00adtion, the conga\u00adtec manage\u00adment will also parti\u00adci\u00adpate. The closing of the purchase agree\u00adment is subject to the appr\u00adoval of the anti\u00adtrust autho\u00adri\u00adties and is sche\u00addu\u00adled for the fourth quar\u00adter of 2020. The parties have agreed not to disc\u00adlose the purchase price.<\/p>\n<p>The MBO of conga\u00adtec Holding AG is the second invest\u00adment of DBAG Fund VIII, which invests in medium-sized compa\u00adnies \u2014 mainly in German-spea\u00adking count\u00adries. The fund\u2019s invest\u00adment period had star\u00adted on August 1, 2020; in the middle of the month, DBAG had struc\u00adtu\u00adred the fund\u2019s first tran\u00adsac\u00adtion with the <strong>MBO of Multi\u00admon AG<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Global market leader in computer-on-modules<\/strong><br>\nconga\u00adtec Holding AG (www.congatec.com), head\u00adquar\u00adte\u00adred in Deggen\u00addorf, Bava\u00adria, is a fast-growing tech\u00adno\u00adlogy company in the field of embedded compu\u00adting with a focus on high-perfor\u00admance so-called compu\u00adter-on-modu\u00adles (CoM) and indus\u00adtrial single-board compu\u00adters (SBC). conga\u00adtec focu\u00adses on the hard\u00adware design of CoMs, which account for around 80 percent of sales. CoMs are used for speci\u00adfic appli\u00adca\u00adti\u00adons within a broa\u00adder system, for exam\u00adple in indus\u00adtrial robots, image proces\u00adsing or ultra\u00adso\u00adnic devices, and typi\u00adcally have to meet speci\u00adfic requi\u00adre\u00adments, for exam\u00adple high relia\u00adbi\u00adlity as well as longe\u00advity even under adverse condi\u00adti\u00adons, real-time proces\u00adsing or zero error tole\u00adrance, often imple\u00admen\u00adted in small sizes. CoMs are complete compu\u00adting units, they consist of a proces\u00adsor, memory and proces\u00adsor peri\u00adpherals and are opti\u00admi\u00adzed for speci\u00adfic appli\u00adca\u00adti\u00adons. CoMs are essen\u00adtial prere\u00adqui\u00adsi\u00adtes for advan\u00adcing digi\u00adtiza\u00adtion because, for exam\u00adple, they make it possi\u00adble to network physi\u00adcal and virtual objects and have them work toge\u00adther through infor\u00adma\u00adtion and commu\u00adni\u00adca\u00adtion tech\u00adno\u00adlo\u00adgies. CoMs are also needed for arti\u00adfi\u00adcial intel\u00adli\u00adgence applications.<\/p>\n<p>In the compu\u00adter-on-module segment, the company, foun\u00added in 2004, is the global market leader with a broad custo\u00admer base ranging from start-ups to inter\u00adna\u00adtio\u00adnal blue-chip compa\u00adnies. conga\u00adtec has subsi\u00addia\u00adries in the USA, Taiwan, China, Japan and Austra\u00adlia as well as in Great Britain, France and the Czech Repu\u00adblic. 270 employees gene\u00adra\u00adted $126 million in reve\u00adnue in 2019. This reve\u00adnue is spread across a wide range of appli\u00adca\u00adti\u00adons \u2014 as a result, the company has so far hardly been affec\u00adted by the Covid 19 pandemic.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Growth through inter\u00adna\u00adtio\u00adna\u00adliza\u00adtion and new proces\u00adsor&nbsp;types<\/strong><br>\nMore than two thirds of conga\u00adtec\u2019s custo\u00admers come from the Euro\u00adpean econo\u00admic area, and the share of sales to custo\u00admers in the USA or Asia is growing. This is expec\u00adted to acce\u00adle\u00adrate in the coming years. In addi\u00adtion to grea\u00adter inter\u00adna\u00adtio\u00adna\u00adliza\u00adtion, an expan\u00adsion of the product range to include CoMs for new proces\u00adsor types is also expec\u00adted to drive the company\u2019s growth. A key driver here is also the rapidly growing demand for higher-perfor\u00admance compu\u00adting solu\u00adti\u00adons in edge appli\u00adca\u00adti\u00adons, among others, in which CoMs in a network provide compu\u00adting power in real time on a decen\u00adtra\u00adli\u00adzed basis \u2014 unlike cloud solu\u00adti\u00adons. In addi\u00adtion, conga\u00adtec\u2019s RTS Hyper\u00advi\u00adsor is an inno\u00adva\u00adtive soft\u00adware solu\u00adtion that can set new stan\u00addards in terms of real-time perfor\u00admance \u2014 both as a stand-alone soft\u00adware solu\u00adtion and in conjunc\u00adtion with the CoMs produ\u00adced by congatec.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe expect contin\u00adued strong growth in digi\u00adtiza\u00adtion,\u201d said <strong>Dr. Rolf Schef\u00adfels (photo), member of the DBAG Manage\u00adment Board<\/strong>, on the occa\u00adsion of the contract signing.
