The <strong>VC Oyster\u00adBay around Chris\u00adtoph Miller (photo<\/strong>) acts as lead inves\u00adtor <strong>.<\/strong> Expe\u00adri\u00aden\u00adced foun\u00adder and ex-Free\u00adle\u00adtics CMO <strong>Chris\u00adtian Hauth<\/strong> now on board as co-CEO.<\/p>\n<p>Follo\u00adwing the successful market launch in 2019, the funds from the new round will be used for product deve\u00adlo\u00adp\u00adment, marke\u00adting, company growth and regio\u00adnal expan\u00adsion. The venture capi\u00adtal fund Oyster\u00adBay, which specia\u00adli\u00adzes in Food\u00adTech and is backed by the expe\u00adri\u00aden\u00adced Hamburg-based beverage entre\u00adpre\u00adneur Chris\u00adtoph Miller, is acting as the lead inves\u00adtor. He and other promi\u00adnent <strong>inves\u00adtors <\/strong>such as<strong> Ralf D\u00fcmmel <\/strong>and <strong>Frank Thelen<\/strong> alre\u00adady inves\u00adted in the drin\u00adking system in mid-2018, which gives water a speci\u00adfic taste only through scent.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs big fans of air up, it was a plea\u00adsure for Oyster\u00adBay to close this invest\u00adment as lead inves\u00adtor. air up is a perfect combi\u00adna\u00adtion of sustaina\u00adbi\u00adlity, global IP, life\u00adstyle as well as food and tech. The foun\u00adding team is highly moti\u00adva\u00adted, commit\u00adted and profes\u00adsio\u00adnal!\u201d, says Chris\u00adtoph Miller.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Expan\u00adsion of manage\u00adment due to strong growth<\/strong><br>\nThe young company is on course for econo\u00admic success: the first produc\u00adtion batch was sold out within a few weeks, and since August 2019 a total of more than 100,000 bott\u00adles have been distri\u00adbu\u00adted. As a result, the air up foun\u00adders plan to conti\u00adnue to pursue their vision of a healthy and sustainable beverage revo\u00adlu\u00adtion and ensure product leader\u00adship in the scent-based drinks sector. The star\u00adtup\u2019s growth is also evident in terms of person\u00adnel: since Febru\u00adary 2019, the team has grown from the five foun\u00adders to a total of 30 members now. In mana\u00adging the young team, air up has been supported since Janu\u00adary by siroop foun\u00adder and ex-Free\u00adle\u00adtics CMO Chris\u00adtian Hauth, who brings exten\u00adsive manage\u00adment expe\u00adri\u00adence with fast-growing start\u00adups. As co-CEO, Hauth will take over the areas of stra\u00adtegy, HR and orga\u00adniza\u00adtion from CEO Jannis Koppitz, who will conti\u00adnue to be respon\u00adsi\u00adble for finance, finan\u00adcing and company development.<\/p>\n<p>The 41-year-old Hauth has a great deal of expe\u00adri\u00adence in the manage\u00adment of young, rapidly expan\u00adding tech\u00adno\u00adlogy compa\u00adnies and special exper\u00adtise in e\u2011commerce, online marke\u00adting and employee manage\u00adment. Here, air up was alre\u00adady available to order online, but few resour\u00adces have been used to increase brand aware\u00adness. The aim is to be available, as in Germany, in the company\u2019s own web store, the leading market\u00adplaces and in statio\u00adnary retail outlets, thus visi\u00adbly estab\u00adli\u00adshing the scent-based drinks segment. To date, the retro\u00adna\u00adsal hydra\u00adtion system is unique in the world and has no compa\u00adra\u00adble products. In addi\u00adtion to expan\u00adding marke\u00adting acti\u00advi\u00adties, the air up team also intends to use the new capi\u00adtal to finance further product deve\u00adlo\u00adp\u00adments. In recent weeks, the raspberry-lemon and cherry flavors have alre\u00adady been laun\u00adched, for which there was parti\u00adcu\u00adlar market demand. As a result, Janu\u00adary 2020 was the highest reve\u00adnue month to date in the star\u00adtup\u2019s e\u2011commerce chan\u00adnels since the company\u2019s foun\u00adding \u2014 doubling Decem\u00adber\u2019s online sales.<\/p>\n<p><strong>About air&nbsp;up<\/strong><br>\nair up is the worl\u00add\u2019s first drin\u00adking system that can flavor water just by adding scent.
