SOLUTIO PREMIUM Private Debt I invests in funds that pool private corpo\u00adrate loans (private debt). This is the worl\u00add\u2019s first invest\u00adment program with this focus that we know of. The final closing took place in Febru\u00adary 2020 above the plan\u00adned <strong>hard cap<\/strong> target volume <strong>of EUR 250 million<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Between 75 and 85 percent of the funds raised will be used for senior loans (senior debt), inclu\u00adding unitran\u00adche, and between 15 and 25 percent for subor\u00addi\u00adna\u00adted \/ other debt. The main focus is on loans for compa\u00adnies held by private equity compa\u00adnies (\u201ccorpo\u00adrate spon\u00adso\u00adred deals\u201d). In the past, these have mostly repor\u00adted low default rates.<\/p>\n<p>SOLUTIO AG and Pantheon (UK) LLP operate the fund as part\u00adners in a joint venture. Pantheon is one of the leading fund of funds mana\u00adgers with a global presence (Ameri\u00adcas, Europe, Asia) and mana\u00adges $47 billion in client assets under manage\u00adment. The company has over 35 years of expe\u00adri\u00adence in private finan\u00adcial markets.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat makes the invest\u00adment approach special is that we get a clear infor\u00adma\u00adtion advan\u00adtage by acces\u00adsing Panthe\u00adon\u2019s invest\u00adment plat\u00adform,\u201d said <strong>SOLUTIO CEO Robert Massing (photo<\/strong>). \u201cWe gain insight into Panthe\u00adon\u2019s exten\u00adsive primary invest\u00adments in private equity, allo\u00adwing us to best explore oppor\u00adtu\u00adni\u00adties in the secon\u00addary private debt&nbsp;space.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPrivate debt is beco\u00adming incre\u00adasingly popu\u00adlar as an alter\u00adna\u00adtive asset class and is no longer a niche product. This is also shown by the growing secon\u00addary market in this segment,\u201d said Ralph G\u00fcnther, Part\u00adner and Head of DACH Region at Pantheon.
