The tran\u00adsac\u00adtion is expec\u00adted to close in the second quar\u00adter of 2020, subject to custo\u00admary regu\u00adla\u00adtory approvals.<\/p>\n<p>Deut\u00adsche Glas\u00adfa\u00adser was foun\u00added in 2011. In 2015, KKR acqui\u00adred a majo\u00adrity stake from Dutch inves\u00adtor Regge\u00adborgh. With KKR\u2019s invest\u00adment, Deut\u00adsche Glas\u00adfa\u00adser has become the fastest growing provi\u00adder of giga\u00adbit Inter\u00adnet connec\u00adtions via fiber-to-the-home (\u201cFTTH\u201d) in Germany. With the opera\u00adtio\u00adnal and finan\u00adcial support of KKR, the company inves\u00adted over EUR 1.2 billion in fiber-optic infra\u00adstruc\u00adture and its roll-out in under\u00adser\u00adved rural and subur\u00adban commu\u00adni\u00adties in Germany. For exam\u00adple, Deut\u00adsche Glas\u00adfa\u00adser increased the number of fiber-optic connec\u00adtions to more than 600,000 house\u00adholds and 5,000 companies.<\/p>\n<p>Accor\u00adding to plans by EQT and OMERS, Deut\u00adsche Glas\u00adfa\u00adser will be merged with EQT port\u00adfo\u00adlio company inexio to form a leading FTTH provi\u00adder in rural Germany. EQT will hold 51 percent of the combi\u00adned group, while Cana\u00addian pension fund OMERS will own 49 percent.<\/p>\n<p>Clif\u00adford Chance had alre\u00adady advi\u00adsed KKR on its invest\u00adment in Deut\u00adsche Glas\u00adfa\u00adser in 2015. In addi\u00adtion, a Clif\u00adford Chance team had recently advi\u00adsed Deut\u00adsche Glas\u00adfa\u00adser on a 1.8 billion refi\u00adnan\u00adcing to further expand fiber infra\u00adstruc\u00adture in Germany.<\/p>\n<p>Clif\u00adford Chance M&amp;A Part\u00adner Markus Muhs said of the tran\u00adsac\u00adtion: \u201cWe are plea\u00adsed to have advi\u00adsed KKR throug\u00adhout its invest\u00adment in Deut\u00adsche Glas\u00adfa\u00adser with a strong team of M&amp;A, finan\u00adcing and regu\u00adla\u00adtory experts.
