The company has comple\u00adted a seed phase with a $4.5 million invest\u00adment led by Israeli auto importer <strong>Delek Motors<\/strong> and Hi Auto\u2019s acting chair\u00adman <strong>Zohar Zisa\u00adpel (pictu\u00adred)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Other inves\u00adtors included <strong>Allied Holdings<\/strong> (holding company of auto importer Cham\u00adpion Motors), Singa\u00adpore-based <strong>Gold\u00adbell Group<\/strong>, a leader in indus\u00adtrial vehicle sales and leasing, and <strong>Plug &amp; Play<\/strong>, which works with auto\u00admo\u00adtive part\u00adners to innovate.<\/p>\n<p>Hi Auto plans to use the seed stage funds to complete deve\u00adlo\u00adp\u00adment of its first product, launch distri\u00adbu\u00adtion and expand its&nbsp;team.<\/p>\n<p>Speech reco\u00adgni\u00adtion plat\u00adforms are curr\u00adently strugg\u00adling with the problem of poor reco\u00adgni\u00adtion rates in noisy envi\u00adron\u00adments, such as when there are child\u00adren in the back seat of a car, an ambu\u00adlance drives by, or it is raining heavily. Hi Auto\u2019s audio\u00advi\u00adsual solu\u00adtion elimi\u00adna\u00adtes all noise and ensu\u00adres that the speech reco\u00adgni\u00adtion plat\u00adform works relia\u00adbly in all noise conditions.<\/p>\n<p>The novel solu\u00adtion can be used in a wide range of use cases in various fields where speech reco\u00adgni\u00adtion and clearly intel\u00adli\u00adgi\u00adble conver\u00adsa\u00adti\u00adons are requi\u00adred, such as in the auto\u00admo\u00adtive indus\u00adtry, cont\u00adact centers, video confe\u00adren\u00adcing, or robots serving custo\u00admers in the hospi\u00adta\u00adlity indus\u00adtry. Curr\u00adently, Hi Auto is focu\u00adsed on the auto\u00admo\u00adtive sector and envi\u00adsi\u00adons the new tech\u00adno\u00adlogy as a solu\u00adtion to the problem of voice-based vehicle control.<\/p>\n<p>Hi Auto is based in Tel Aviv and was foun\u00added in Febru\u00adary 2019 by CEO Roy Baha\u00adrav, CTO Eyal Shapira and Zohar Zisa\u00adpel, who serves as the company\u2019s acting chair\u00adman and inves\u00adtor. Baha\u00adrav recently retur\u00adned to Israel after living on the West Coast of the United States for 12 years. There he held various product manage\u00adment posi\u00adti\u00adons at Goog\u00adle\u2019s Moun\u00adtain View head\u00adquar\u00adters in Cali\u00adfor\u00adnia, as well as CEO of SeamBI, a company he foun\u00added in 2006. In the past, he held senior posi\u00adti\u00adons in an elite intel\u00adli\u00adgence unit of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), such as comman\u00adder of a divi\u00adsion of 40 engi\u00adneers and tech\u00adni\u00adcal experts.<\/p>\n<p>Eyal Shapira also comman\u00added a detach\u00adment of some 40 engi\u00adneers and specia\u00adlists in an elite IDF tech\u00adno\u00adlogy unit, in which he served and was awarded the Israel Defense Prize. After his mili\u00adtary service, Shapira was a foun\u00adder and admi\u00adnis\u00adtra\u00adtor of start-up compa\u00adnies and a consul\u00adtant for compa\u00adnies such as Intel and Broad\u00adcom. Zisa\u00adpel helped found and is chair\u00adman of some of Israel\u2019s best-known auto\u00admo\u00adtive start-ups, inclu\u00adding Hailo, Argus and Innoviz.<\/p>\n<p>Hi Auto will unveil a proto\u00adtype of the worl\u00add\u2019s first commer\u00adcial driver voice reco\u00adgni\u00adtion solu\u00adtion, which sepa\u00adra\u00adtes the driver\u2019s voice from all other voices in the vehicle, as well as noises inside and outside the vehicle, or hides all back\u00adground noise, at CES 2020 in Las Vegas from Jan. 7\u201310. Thus, for the first time, such a solu\u00adtion is coming to the market that combi\u00adnes a micro\u00adphone placed in front of the inten\u00added spea\u00adker with a camera that tracks his or her lips. The system is based on a deep-lear\u00adning soft\u00adware program instal\u00adled on the device that elimi\u00adna\u00adtes noise, which cannot be achie\u00adved by using audio tech\u00adni\u00adques alone.
