Taca\u00adlyx, a spin-out of the Max Planck Insti\u00adtute (MPI) for Colloid and Inter\u00adface Rese\u00adarch, will use the proceeds to build its disco\u00advery plat\u00adform, select appro\u00adpriate \u201clead\u201d candi\u00adda\u00adtes and begin their precli\u00adni\u00adcal development.<\/p>\n

TACAs repre\u00adsent novel targets for cancer thera\u00adpies due to their speci\u00adfic expres\u00adsion on a variety of tumors. At the same time, TACAs are viru\u00adlence factors for tumor growth and spread, and ther\u00ade\u00adfore their masking and\/or down\u00adre\u00adgu\u00adla\u00adtion impairs vital func\u00adtions of the tumor cell. Due to the low immu\u00adno\u00adge\u00adni\u00adcity of TACAs, the gene\u00adra\u00adtion of speci\u00adfic anti\u00adbo\u00addies is a major chall\u00adenge and requi\u00adres inno\u00adva\u00adtive approa\u00adches as well as exten\u00adsive know\u00adledge of the tech\u00adno\u00adlogy used.<\/p>\n
