Munich, London, Paris \u2014 Pan-Euro\u00adpean private equity firm Silver\u00adfleet Capi\u00adtal<\/strong> has signed an agree\u00adment to sell Phase One<\/strong> to funds mana\u00adged by Axcel<\/strong>. Phase One is a leading tech\u00adno\u00adlogy company in the field of high-end digi\u00adtal camera systems and for image proces\u00adsing soft\u00adware. The tran\u00adsac\u00adtion is still subject to regu\u00adla\u00adtory approval.<\/p>\n

Phase One opera\u00adtes two busi\u00adness units: Soft\u00adware Imaging Systems (\u201cSIS\u201d) offers market-leading image proces\u00adsing soft\u00adware for raw (RAW) images under the Capture One brand; it targets both profes\u00adsio\u00adnal and amateur photo\u00adgraph\u00aders as well as busi\u00adnesses. Image Capture Solu\u00adti\u00adons (\u201cICS\u201d) has ultra-high-end medium format camera systems in its port\u00adfo\u00adlio that are suita\u00adble for aerial photo\u00adgra\u00adphy, for exam\u00adple, and are used by profes\u00adsio\u00adnal and amateur photo\u00adgraph\u00aders as well as cultu\u00adral heri\u00adtage insti\u00adtu\u00adti\u00adons. The company is head\u00adquar\u00adte\u00adred in Copen\u00adha\u00adgen, with addi\u00adtio\u00adnal offices in Germany, Hong Kong, Israel, Japan and the USA.<\/p>\n

Silver\u00adfleet Capi\u00adtal had acqui\u00adred a majo\u00adrity stake in Phase One in 2014. The decisive factor was the clear growth poten\u00adtial due to the incre\u00adasing demand for high-reso\u00adlu\u00adtion medium-format photo\u00adgra\u00adphy, for exam\u00adple in the field of 3D mapping with aerial images or in home\u00adland secu\u00adrity. Since then, Silver\u00adfleet Capi\u00adtal has supported the company in its trans\u00adfor\u00adma\u00adtion from a stron\u00adgly hard\u00adware-orien\u00adted to a soft\u00adware-driven busi\u00adness model. From 2014 to 2018, the SIS unit increased sales by 38 percent. During this period, two acqui\u00adsi\u00adti\u00adons were also made \u2014 inclu\u00adding the main Japa\u00adnese supplier \u2014 and substan\u00adtial invest\u00adments were made in rese\u00adarch and deve\u00adlo\u00adp\u00adment. This allo\u00adwed Phase One to push its inno\u00adva\u00adtion course in medium format photo\u00adgra\u00adphy. The latest product inno\u00adva\u00adtions include the successfully laun\u00adched IQ4 and IXM systems for photo\u00adgraph\u00aders and indus\u00adtrial applications.<\/p>\n
