With IQM, the decis\u00adion fell on a \u201cdeep-tech\u201d company from Finland, a spin-off of the renow\u00adned Helsinki Aalto Univer\u00adsity and the VTT Tech\u00adni\u00adcal Rese\u00adarch Center of Finland in Helsinki: The start-up IQM is working on the deve\u00adlo\u00adp\u00adment of hard\u00adware compon\u00adents for quan\u00adtum computers.<\/p>\n<p>In prac\u00adti\u00adcal appli\u00adca\u00adti\u00adons, these quan\u00adtum compu\u00adters are to be used in the future in medi\u00adcal drug rese\u00adarch, in finan\u00adcial markets, or in mate\u00adri\u00adals and trans\u00adpor\u00adta\u00adtion scien\u00adces. The high-perfor\u00admance compu\u00adters are expec\u00adted to solve extre\u00admely complex compu\u00adting tasks within hours, a task that previously took seve\u00adral years to complete. With their invest\u00adment, the parti\u00adci\u00adpa\u00adting MIG funds acquire a total share of around 17% in the Finnish company. Inter\u00adna\u00adtio\u00adnal inves\u00adtors should open up access to networks in the tech\u00adno\u00adlogy scene and the asso\u00adcia\u00adted know-how for the start-up.
