Antwerp\/ Munich \u2014 Gimv<\/strong> acqui\u00adres a majo\u00adrity stake in the fast-growing Alro Group,<\/strong> a specia\u00adlist in indus\u00adtrial coating of car and truck parts. The tran\u00adsac\u00adtion is part of the succes\u00adsion plan for the family busi\u00adness \u2014 Gimv is taking over the shares from the foun\u00adding family Thijs. The current manage\u00adment remains on board and supports the company\u2019s further growth ambi\u00adti\u00adons with its reinvestment.<\/p>\n

Alro Group (Dilsen-Stok\u00adkem, Belgium, www.alro-group.com) was foun\u00added in 1976 by the Thijs family. The company has grown from a small coating company to a renow\u00adned group with seve\u00adral bran\u00adches in Western and Central Europe. The group specia\u00adli\u00adzes in coating and pain\u00adting plas\u00adtic or metal vehicle parts.<\/p>\n

Alro is charac\u00adte\u00adri\u00adzed by strong custo\u00admer orien\u00adta\u00adtion and diverse coating tech\u00adno\u00adlo\u00adgies, enab\u00adling it to respond flexi\u00adbly and quickly to the growing demand for custo\u00admi\u00adzed solu\u00adti\u00adons. With about 1,000 employees and around 20 coating lines, the company has signi\u00adfi\u00adcant capa\u00adci\u00adties. These process over 100,000 products per day on modern produc\u00adtion lines using data-control\u00adled proces\u00adses. Today, the custo\u00admer base consists of a large number of well-known names in the car and truck industry.<\/p>\n

As a Tier 1 supplier, the Alro Group relies on strong custo\u00admer rela\u00adti\u00adonships: OEM truck manu\u00adfac\u00adtu\u00adr\u00aders appre\u00adciate the relia\u00adble supply (just-in-time \/ just-in-sequence), the high flexi\u00adbi\u00adlity in pain\u00adting in over 1,000 colors and the assem\u00adbly of nume\u00adrous diffe\u00adrent parts. Recently, Alro Group also deve\u00adlo\u00adped an inno\u00adva\u00adtive solu\u00adtion for coating battery housings for elec\u00adtric vehic\u00adles. The company is thus ideally posi\u00adtio\u00adned to bene\u00adfit from the expec\u00adted strong growth of the elec\u00adtric vehicle market. In addi\u00adtion, the Alro Group is respon\u00adding to the incre\u00adasing demand for contras\u00adting colors, which enable auto\u00adma\u00adkers to further perso\u00adna\u00adlize the appearance of their vehicles.<\/p>\n

Since the start of the new manage\u00adment team, the company has under\u00adgone a posi\u00adtive trans\u00adfor\u00adma\u00adtion, focu\u00adsing on incre\u00adasing value crea\u00adtion and flexibility.<\/p>\n

Increase deli\u00advered value-add and focus on grea\u00adter flexi\u00adbi\u00adlity. The invest\u00adment by Gimv is inten\u00added to help imple\u00adment the growth plans and support the profes\u00adsio\u00adna\u00adliza\u00adtion course of the company\u2019s management.<\/p>\n
