Follo\u00adwing the purchase of the company, 3i has refi\u00adnan\u00adced the Disa busi\u00adness with money from insti\u00adtu\u00adtio\u00adnal inves\u00adtors. Nothing is known about the value of the transaction.<\/p>\n<p>The acqui\u00adsi\u00adtion of Disa in the bidding process was closely tied to the successful refi\u00adnan\u00adcing of the leasing company. The new inves\u00adtors include <strong>Meag Munich Ergo Asset Manage\u00adment<\/strong>, the joint asset mana\u00adger of <strong>Munich Re <\/strong>and<strong> the Ergo Group<\/strong>, and <strong>Sumitomo Mitui Banking Corpo\u00adra\u00adtion<\/strong> (SMBC). The latter contri\u00adbu\u00adtes to the finan\u00adcing mix with a tradi\u00adtio\u00adnal bank loan, while Meag invests in bonds issued by Disa. The refi\u00adnan\u00adcing replaces a <strong>Kfw-Ipex loan finan\u00adcing<\/strong> at an early&nbsp;stage.<\/p>\n<p>The asset mana\u00adger is looking for alter\u00adna\u00adtive long-term invest\u00adments in view of the low inte\u00adrest rates that can be reali\u00adzed on the capi\u00adtal market. This is the second time that the subsi\u00addiary of the two insu\u00adr\u00aders has inves\u00adted in rail vehic\u00adles. The risk-rela\u00adted higher inte\u00adrest rates on these assets result from the fact that the vehic\u00adles can run for 24 years, but the public trans\u00adport contracts that guaran\u00adtee their use only run for 12 years. So the inves\u00adtors are specu\u00adla\u00adting that the vehic\u00adles will be used again afterwards.<\/p>\n<p>Abel\u00adlio was awarded the conces\u00adsion to operate the network in Central Germany in 2015 and has been opera\u00adting it since the end of 2018. With nine million train kilo\u00adme\u00adters, the contract is one of the largest in German local rail passen\u00adger trans\u00adport (SPNV).
