The new board consists of six expe\u00adri\u00aden\u00adced indus\u00adtry experts with exper\u00adtise in drug and medi\u00adcal device deve\u00adlo\u00adp\u00adment, company buil\u00adding, and mergers and acqui\u00adsi\u00adti\u00adons. Michel Darnaud<\/strong> (form\u00aderly respon\u00adsi\u00adble for cardiac surgery at Liva\u00adNova), Peter Hirth (former CEO of Plex\u00adxi\u00adkon), Ismail Kola<\/strong> (former CSO at UCB), Kasim Kutay<\/strong> (CEO of Novo Holdings), Alex\u00adandre LeBe\u00adaut<\/strong> (CSO of Ipsen) and Edwin Moses<\/strong> (former CEO of Ablynx) will assist Gimv\u2019s life scien\u00adces team with port\u00adfo\u00adlio deve\u00adlo\u00adp\u00adment, new deal origi\u00adna\u00adtion and gene\u00adral indus\u00adtry trend analysis.<\/p>\n

Gimv has inves\u00adted in more than 80 life scien\u00adces compa\u00adnies since 1982 and has consis\u00adt\u00adently gene\u00adra\u00adted outstan\u00adding returns. Success stories include Ablynx, Plex\u00adxi\u00adkon, Devgen, Cova\u00adgen Proso\u00adnix and Endo\u00adsense. As part of the broa\u00adder \u201cHealth & Care\u201d plat\u00adform<\/a>, Gimv\u2019s life scien\u00adces team invests in biotech\u00adno\u00adlogy and medi\u00adcal tech\u00adno\u00adlogy start-ups \u2014 both early and later stage. An invest\u00adment volume of 10\u201325 million euros per company is targe\u00adted, with finan\u00adcing provi\u00added through Gimv\u2019s own balance sheet as part of an ever\u00adgreen struc\u00adture. The Life Scien\u00adces team, led by part\u00adners Dr. Karl N\u00e4gler, Bram Vanpa\u00adrys and Patrick Van Bene\u00adden, curr\u00adently mana\u00adges a port\u00adfo\u00adlio of eleven compa\u00adnies. The plan is to expand the port\u00adfo\u00adlio to 15 to 20 compa\u00adnies in the coming years.<\/p>\n
