Berlin \u2014 Mobile bank N26<\/strong> announ\u00adced that it has raised $300 million in its Series D funding round<\/strong> led by New York-based venture capi\u00adtal firm Insight Venture Part\u00adners<\/strong>. This brings N26\u2019s valua\u00adtion to $2.7 billion. GIC, an invest\u00adment fund of the state of Singa\u00adpore, <\/strong>is also parti\u00adci\u00adpa\u00adting in the round. Accor\u00adding to N26, this brings its valua\u00adtion to USD 2.7 billion. N26 origi\u00adnally emer\u00adged from the AS PnP Acce\u00adle\u00adra\u00adtor program.<\/p>\n

The $300 million invest\u00adment repres\u00adents the largest private equity finan\u00adcing round for a fintech company in Europe in recent years. To date, N26 has raised more than $500 million from the worl\u00add\u2019s most estab\u00adlished inves\u00adtors, inclu\u00adding Tencent, Alli\u00adanz X, Peter Thiel\u2019s Valar Ventures, Li Ka-Shin\u00adg\u2019s Hori\u00adzons Ventures, Early\u00adbird Venture Capi\u00adtal, Redal\u00adpine Ventures, Axel Sprin\u00adger Plug and Play <\/strong>and Grey\u00adhound Capi\u00adtal<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

N26\u2019s goal is to become the first global mobile bank. The company curr\u00adently opera\u00adtes in 24 markets across Europe and has tripled its custo\u00admer base in the last 12 months to more than 2.3 million custo\u00admers. N26 is using the invest\u00adment for global expan\u00adsion, start\u00ading with the launch of its app in the U.S. in the first half of 2019. In the coming years, the company aims to reach over 100 million custo\u00admers worldwide.<\/p>\n
