Antwerp\/Munich\/Mannheim\/Isenb\u00fcttel \u2014 The Euro\u00adpean invest\u00adment company Gimv<\/strong> has agreed with the respec\u00adtive owners of the Medi-Markt Home\u00adcare-Service<\/strong> GmbH, based in Mann\u00adheim, and the Isen\u00adb\u00fct\u00adtel-based Medi Markt Service Nord Ost<\/strong> GmbH and the respec\u00adtive asso\u00adcia\u00adted compa\u00adnies concluded an agree\u00adment to take over the majo\u00adrity of the shares in the company. This is a succes\u00adsion situa\u00adtion<\/strong> forboth compa\u00adnies<\/strong>. \u2014 Gimv is thus expan\u00adding its Health & Care port\u00adfo\u00adlio to include a leading supplier of medi\u00adcal aids in Germany, which is expec\u00adted to grow further in the coming years. The remai\u00adning shares will be acqui\u00adred by the desi\u00adgna\u00adted CEO of the Medi Markt Group, Markus Reichel. The tran\u00adsac\u00adtion is still subject to the usual regu\u00adla\u00adtory appr\u00adoval and is expec\u00adted to be comple\u00adted in a few weeks.<\/p>\n

The two compa\u00adnies and their affi\u00adlia\u00adted compa\u00adnies, which toge\u00adther have around 225 employees, have previously opera\u00adted with diffe\u00adrent regio\u00adnal focu\u00adses. In the future, they are to operate as a group and uniformly under the Medi-Markt brand; Mann\u00adheim will become the head\u00adquar\u00adters. Markus Reichel, who was previously Mana\u00adging Direc\u00adtor of Medi-Markt Home\u00adcare-Service GmbH, will become Mana\u00adging Direc\u00adtor of the over\u00adall group and, as part of the tran\u00adsac\u00adtion, also a co-part\u00adner. The compa\u00adnies specia\u00adlize in the mail order busi\u00adness with auxi\u00adliary and care aids for home consump\u00adtion; a parti\u00adcu\u00adlar focus is on consul\u00adting and regu\u00adlar supply of products in the area of absor\u00adbent incon\u00adti\u00adnence aids. In addi\u00adtion, the 12,000-item port\u00adfo\u00adlio also includes areas such as drai\u00adning incon\u00adti\u00adnence aids, diabe\u00adtes control, ostomy care, ente\u00adral nutri\u00adtion, home care (disin\u00adfec\u00adtion and protec\u00adtion) and perso\u00adnal care, inclu\u00adding private labels. Medi-Markt is one of the most important suppli\u00aders of incon\u00adti\u00adnence aids and ostomy care in the coun\u00adtry. The entire group turns over more than 50 million euros a year.<\/p>\n

Medi-Markt supplies around 150,000 end consu\u00admers every year. A large propor\u00adtion of the products are prescri\u00adbed by doctors and hospi\u00adtals on the basis of prescrip\u00adti\u00adons and billed to health and long-term care insu\u00adr\u00aders, for whom Medi-Markt has been a relia\u00adble part\u00adner for many years.<\/p>\n
