As part of a manage\u00adment buy-out (MBO), the DBAG ECF fund advi\u00adsed by Deut\u00adsche Betei\u00adli\u00adgungs AG will acquire the majo\u00adrity of shares in four opera\u00adting compa\u00adnies of the BTV group. These will be sold as part of a succes\u00adsion plan by the company foun\u00adder and share\u00adhol\u00adder of BTV Thomas Braun, who will conti\u00adnue to be respon\u00adsi\u00adble for the manage\u00adment of the compa\u00adnies. <strong>DBAG is co-inves\u00adt\u00ading up to 4.8 million euros<\/strong>; in future, it will account for around <strong>38 percent of<\/strong> the shares in the compa\u00adnies. Further shares in addi\u00adtion to the DBAG ECF (a total of 93 percent) will be held by the compa\u00adnies\u2019 manage\u00adment. The closing of the purchase agree\u00adment is sche\u00addu\u00adled for July 2018. The rele\u00advant anti\u00adtrust autho\u00adri\u00adties still have to approve the tran\u00adsac\u00adtion. The parties have agreed not to disc\u00adlose the purchase price.<\/p>\n<p>The BTV group is DBAG ECF\u2019s fifth majo\u00adrity invest\u00adment since it expan\u00added its invest\u00adment spec\u00adtrum to include MBOs with equity invest\u00adments of ten to 30 million euros. At the same time, BTV marks the begin\u00adning of the second new invest\u00adment period of the DBAG ECF, or DBAG ECF II. The first invest\u00adment period of the fund (DBAG ECF I) was thus termi\u00adna\u00adted prema\u00adtu\u00adrely after only twelve months. To date, 80 percent of the funds commit\u00adted to DBAG ECF I have been commit\u00adted. Further follow-on invest\u00adments are expec\u00adted to support the further deve\u00adlo\u00adp\u00adment of the exis\u00adting port\u00adfo\u00adlio companies.<\/p>\n<p>BTV (www.brauntelecom.de) is a group of trading and service compa\u00adnies that deve\u00adlop, produce and distri\u00adbute compon\u00adents for the cons\u00adtruc\u00adtion of cable and fiber optic networks. It is one of the few full-service provi\u00adders on the market: BTV offers ever\u00ady\u00adthing needed to build, upgrade and operate such infra\u00adstruc\u00adtures. This includes, for exam\u00adple, antenna sockets that are indi\u00advi\u00addu\u00adally deve\u00adlo\u00adped and produ\u00adced. The Group stocks a wide range of such and other compon\u00adents used by network opera\u00adtors and service compa\u00adnies. A growing service busi\u00adness comple\u00adments and supports the product busi\u00adness: Certain compon\u00adents in cable networks are beco\u00adming incre\u00adasingly complex and require tech\u00adni\u00adcal support in plan\u00adning, sales, confi\u00adgu\u00adra\u00adtion and installation.<\/p>\n<p>BTV was foun\u00added in Hano\u00adver in 1986. Around 40 people are employed there, inclu\u00adding in a rese\u00adarch and deve\u00adlo\u00adp\u00adment depart\u00adment: the company deve\u00adlops and tests products in close coope\u00adra\u00adtion with its custo\u00admers. There are further service and sales loca\u00adti\u00adons in Hamburg and in Wismar (35 employees), and subsi\u00addia\u00adries are also main\u00adtai\u00adned in the Nether\u00adlands and in Taiwan. BTV has grown stron\u00adgly; in the last three years, reve\u00adnue almost doubled to around 30 million euros (2017).<\/p>\n<p>BTV is the fifth company in broad\u00adband commu\u00adni\u00adca\u00adti\u00adons in which DBAG has inves\u00adted since 2013. In addi\u00adtion, there were seven corpo\u00adrate acqui\u00adsi\u00adti\u00adons of these share\u00adhol\u00addings. \u201cThe market for these compa\u00adnies is driven by incre\u00adasing end-custo\u00admer demand for faster Inter\u00adnet connec\u00adtions, which require exis\u00adting networks to be upgraded or newly built,\u201d says Tors\u00adten Grede, spokes\u00adman for DBAG\u2019s Manage\u00adment Board, describ\u00ading the attrac\u00adtive market envi\u00adron\u00adment for this invest\u00adment. This also includes the trend toward high-perfor\u00admance fiber-optic connec\u00adtions right into the home. \u201cComple\u00adxity is incre\u00adasing \u2014 this will conti\u00adnue to drive demand for BTV products and for rela\u00adted services.\u201d BTV\u2019s further deve\u00adlo\u00adp\u00adment steps are to include not only orga\u00adnic growth but also the broa\u00adde\u00adning of the product and service range through further company acquisitions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDBAG has a good repu\u00adta\u00adtion and is a very expe\u00adri\u00aden\u00adced inves\u00adtor in our indus\u00adtry \u2014 making it the ideal part\u00adner to accom\u00adpany our company in its further deve\u00adlo\u00adp\u00adment,\u201d said Thomas Braun, a member of the company\u2019s Manage\u00adment Board and share\u00adhol\u00adder, explai\u00adning the sale to DBAG&nbsp;ECF.<\/p>\n<p><strong>About DBAG<\/strong><br>\nDeut\u00adsche Betei\u00adli\u00adgungs AG, a listed company, initia\u00adtes closed-end private equity funds and invests along\u00adside DBAG funds in well-posi\u00adtio\u00adned medium-sized compa\u00adnies with deve\u00adlo\u00adp\u00adment poten\u00adtial.
