Sprin\u00adger Nature gene\u00adra\u00adted <strong>sales of 1.6 billion euros <\/strong>in 2017 and is owned by the <strong>Holtz\u00adbrinck publi\u00adshing group<\/strong>, which holds 53 percent of the shares, and the <strong>finan\u00adcial inves\u00adtor BC Part\u00adners<\/strong>. The private equity house had acqui\u00adred the prede\u00adces\u00adsor company named Sprin\u00adger Science in 2013 for 3.3 billion euros from the then owner <strong>EQT<\/strong>. The PE inves\u00adtor had acqui\u00adred the prede\u00adces\u00adsor company Sprin\u00adger Science in summer 2013 for \u20ac3.3 billion. Even then, the then owner EQT \u2014 also a private equity inves\u00adtor \u2014 had also conside\u00adred an IPO in paral\u00adlel with the M&amp;A transaction.<\/p>\n<p>The Berlin-based publi\u00adshing house, which has a large site in Heidel\u00adberg, announ\u00adced that it plans to list on the Regu\u00adla\u00adted Market (Prime Stan\u00addard) of the Frank\u00adfurt Stock Exch\u00adange. Sprin\u00adger did not provide any infor\u00adma\u00adtion on the timing of the IPO on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>While Holtz\u00adbrinck does not want to divest itself of shares in the course of the IPO, BC Part\u00adners could reduce its stake in Sprin\u00adger Nature, accor\u00adding to a press release from the company. This would depend on the market envi\u00adron\u00adment. BC Part\u00adners has injec\u00adted 494 million euros of equity into Sprin\u00adger Science.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sprin\u00adger Nature wants to reduce debts<\/strong><br>\nSprin\u00adger Nature says it intends to use the IPO proceeds to become more finan\u00adci\u00adally flexi\u00adble and to open up the option of finan\u00adcing via the equity market. In addi\u00adtion, the publisher aims to reduce the net debt ratio to 3.5 times the earnings before inte\u00adrest, taxes, depre\u00adcia\u00adtion and amor\u00adtiza\u00adtion (Ebitda) from 2017 adjus\u00adted for high recur\u00adring and conti\u00adnuing investments.<\/p>\n<p>Accor\u00adding to company infor\u00adma\u00adtion, net finan\u00adcial debt most recently amoun\u00adted to 3 billion euros, and adjus\u00adted Ebitda was 551 million euros in 2017.
