The Munich office has been streng\u00adthe\u00adned with the new Part\u00adner<strong> Phil\u00adipp von Hammer\u00adstein (35)<\/strong> and the two new Prin\u00adci\u00adpals <strong>Fried\u00adrich von Wall\u00adwitz (32) <\/strong>and<strong> Patrick Schaich (38)<\/strong> \u2014 Gimv is thus gearing up for new invest\u00adments in the German-spea\u00adking region across all focu\u00adsed invest\u00adment platforms.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Phil\u00adipp von Hammer\u00adstein (35, photo)<\/strong>, on board as a Prin\u00adci\u00adpal at Gimv in Munich since 2016, has been appoin\u00adted Part\u00adner in the Health &amp; Care prac\u00adtice, effec\u00adtive Janu\u00adary 1, 2018. Prior to joining Gimv, von Hammer\u00adstein worked for KPMG in Germany in the area of Deal Advi\u00adsory \u2014 M&amp;A. There, he has advi\u00adsed on more than 50 projects \u2014 prima\u00adrily in the health\u00adcare sector and for various client groups such as large listed corpo\u00adra\u00adti\u00adons, family-owned compa\u00adnies, the public sector as well as private equity funds and their port\u00adfo\u00adlio compa\u00adnies. At Gimv, von Hammer\u00adstein was instru\u00admen\u00adtal in tran\u00adsac\u00adtions such as the invest\u00adment in the Swiss MVZ Holding. He holds a degree in Busi\u00adness Admi\u00adnis\u00adtra\u00adtion (Tech\u00adni\u00adcal Univer\u00adsity of Berlin) and a Master in Manage\u00adment (ESC Toulouse\/Toulouse Busi\u00adness School).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Fried\u00adrich von Wall\u00adwitz (32)<\/strong> has been a Prin\u00adci\u00adpal in the Smart Indus\u00adtries team since Janu\u00adary. He previously worked in London, first as a commo\u00addi\u00adties trader, then as an M&amp;A advi\u00adsor and merchant banker for PMB Capi\u00adtal. There he deve\u00adlo\u00adped long-term and sustainable finan\u00adcing solu\u00adti\u00adons for compa\u00adnies in the DACH region. Fried\u00adrich von Wall\u00adwitz studied Econo\u00admics &amp; Inter\u00adna\u00adtio\u00adnal Rela\u00adti\u00adons (BA) at Lancas\u00adter Univer\u00adsity, Law &amp; Econo\u00admics at the Univer\u00adsi\u00adties of Hamburg, Rotter\u00addam and UC Berke\u00adley (LL.M), and Chris\u00adtian Theo\u00adlogy at the Univer\u00adsity of London (MA).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Patrick Schaich (38)<\/strong>, Prin\u00adci\u00adpal in the Connec\u00adted Consu\u00admer team since Febru\u00adary, joins from inter\u00adna\u00adtio\u00adnal small-mid market private equity inves\u00adtor The River\u00adside Company. There, Schaich worked on tran\u00adsac\u00adtions in various indus\u00adtries for nearly five years. Prior to that, he gained exten\u00adsive expe\u00adri\u00adence in invest\u00adment banking at Kepler-Cheu\u00advreux and at Beren\u00adberg, prima\u00adrily in the retail and consu\u00admer goods sectors. Patrick Schaich holds an MSc as well as a BBA in Finance from the ESF Euro\u00adpean School of Finance \/ HfWU N\u00fcrtingen-Geislingen.<\/p>\n<p>Laun\u00adched in Belgium almost 40 years ago, Gimv, which is listed on Euron\u00adext Brussels, now opera\u00adtes across Europe with around 90 employees and mana\u00adges around 1.6 billion euros. In addi\u00adtion to its head\u00adquar\u00adters in Antwerp, Gimv has offices in Munich, Paris and The Hague. The company curr\u00adently holds stakes in around 50 port\u00adfo\u00adlio compa\u00adnies. The focus is on the four invest\u00adment plat\u00adforms Smart Indus\u00adtries, Health &amp; Care, Connec\u00adted Consu\u00admer and Sustainable Cities \u2014 inno\u00adva\u00adtive, leading compa\u00adnies from these sectors with high growth poten\u00adtial are supported by Gimv with capi\u00adtal and know-how on their way to market leadership.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Promi\u00adsing last quar\u00adter of&nbsp;2017<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Gimv\u2019s on-balance sheet invest\u00adments from Octo\u00adber 1, 2017 to Decem\u00adber 31, 2017 amoun\u00adted to 55 million euros \u2014 brin\u00adging the total inves\u00adted in 2017 to 159 million euros. In the last quar\u00adter of 2017, two major invest\u00adments were reali\u00adzed, inclu\u00adding in WEMAS Absperr\u00adtech\u00adnik GmbH from G\u00fcters\u00adloh. Total dive\u00adst\u00adments reco\u00adgni\u00adzed in the balance sheet in the third quar\u00adter amoun\u00adted to 197 million euros (full year: 314 million euros); five compa\u00adnies were dive\u00ads\u00adted.
