As part of a manage\u00adment buy-out (MBO), DBAG ECF, which is mana\u00adged by DBAG, will acquire the majo\u00adrity of shares in netz\u00adkon\u00adtor. The remai\u00adning shares will remain with the foun\u00adders and previous sole owners Dirk M\u00fcller and Peter Schmidt, who will conti\u00adnue to work for the company as mana\u00adging part\u00adners. For its co-invest\u00adment along\u00adside DBAG ECF, DBAG will invest up <strong>to EUR 4.6 million<\/strong> from its balance sheet. The purchase agree\u00adment was signed at the end of Decem\u00adber and is expec\u00adted to be comple\u00adted in Janu\u00adary 2018. The parties have agreed not to disc\u00adlose the purchase price.<\/p>\n<p>netz\u00adkon\u00adtor is alre\u00adady the second invest\u00adment of the DBAG ECF since the start of its first new invest\u00adment period, DBAG ECF I for short, in June 2017. This means that more than a quar\u00adter of the commit\u00adted capi\u00adtal has been drawn&nbsp;down.<\/p>\n<p><strong>netz\u00adkon\u00adtor<\/strong> (www.netzkontor-nord.de) was foun\u00added in 2008 and opera\u00adtes with around 100 employees in two busi\u00adness areas. Under the brand name \u201cnetz\u00adkon\u00adtor\u201d, the company offers services rela\u00adted to the plan\u00adning and moni\u00adto\u00adring of the cons\u00adtruc\u00adtion of fiber optic networks. The OpenXS subsi\u00addiary hand\u00adles network manage\u00adment for fiber-optic network opera\u00adtors. The regio\u00adnal focus so far has been on Schles\u00adwig-Holstein. In addi\u00adtion to its head\u00adquar\u00adters in Flens\u00adburg, netz\u00adkon\u00adtor opera\u00adtes from two other loca\u00adti\u00adons. With the recently opened branch in Schwe\u00adrin, the company is also active in Meck\u00adlen\u00adburg-Vorpom\u00admern. In 2017, netz\u00adkon\u00adtor gene\u00adra\u00adted sales of around eight million euros.<\/p>\n<p>Demand for fast Inter\u00adnet connec\u00adtions by private house\u00adholds and compa\u00adnies is incre\u00adasing. So far, howe\u00adver, broad\u00adband expan\u00adsion in Germany has been slug\u00adgish by Euro\u00adpean stan\u00addards. It is ther\u00ade\u00adfore also supported by subsi\u00addies from the fede\u00adral budget. More than 40 million house\u00adholds in Germany are not yet connec\u00adted to a fiber optic line. In this favorable market envi\u00adron\u00adment, netz\u00adkon\u00adtor bene\u00adfits from its good repu\u00adta\u00adtion as a relia\u00adble quality provi\u00adder and from its exper\u00adtise in project manage\u00adment.
