Berlin \u2014 Berlin-based solar start-up Enpal has raised another EUR 100 million in its largest finan\u00adcing round to date.<\/p>\n
The round of inves\u00adtors was led by HV Capi\u00adtal; other inves\u00adtors included Thomas Grie\u00adsel, foun\u00adder of the cooking box company HelloFresh, as well as Chris\u00adto\u00adpher Muhr, ex-mana\u00adger of the used car trading plat\u00adform Auto1, and Peter Rive, cousin of Elon Musk and co-foun\u00adder of the green energy produ\u00adcer Solar\u00adcity. In addi\u00adtion, many exis\u00adting inves\u00adtors, such as the foun\u00adders of the mail order company Zalando, are also on board, as is the venture capi\u00adtal firm Picus Capi\u00adtal with Alex\u00adan\u00adder Samwer or Lukasz Gadow\u00adski, the foun\u00adder of the current Dax company Deli\u00advery Hero. Actor Leonardo DiCa\u00adprio is also indi\u00adrectly invol\u00adved through an invest\u00adment by the Climate Tech\u00adno\u00adlogy Fund.<\/p>\n
Enpal offers solar panels and batte\u00adries for rent instead of purchase start\u00ading at EUR 49\/month. This price alre\u00adady includes instal\u00adla\u00adtion, main\u00adten\u00adance and insu\u00adrance. The self-gene\u00adra\u00adted elec\u00adtri\u00adcity belongs to the custo\u00admer, who can purchase the plant at the end of the contract period for a symbo\u00adlic price of one euro. The aim is to make it chea\u00adper and, above all, more conve\u00adni\u00adent for homeow\u00adners to install a photo\u00advol\u00adtaic system. The busi\u00adness model has its model in the USA, where the leasing of solar plants has become estab\u00adlished as a stan\u00addard solution.<\/p>\n
