Magdeburg\/ Munich \u2014 One of Germany\u2019s largest energy service provi\u00adders is being sold. The Swedish invest\u00adment fund EQT sells its 75 percent stake in Magde\u00adburg-based Getec. The buyer is Infra\u00adstruc\u00adture Invest\u00adments Fund (\u201cIIF\u201d), an invest\u00adment firm advi\u00adsed by J.P. Morgan Invest\u00adment Manage\u00adment. \u2014 GEH, the family holding company of company foun\u00adder Karl Gerhold, is also selling its shares. EQT holds 75 percent of the shares, Gerhold the remai\u00adning 25 percent. The autho\u00adri\u00adties still have to approve the tran\u00adsac\u00adtion. Closing is expec\u00adted at the end of the first quar\u00adter of 2022.<\/p>\n
As various media repor\u00adted a few weeks ago, Getec could be valued at twenty times its Ebitda of around 200 million euros in the event of a sale \u2014 that would be around 4 billion euros inclu\u00adding debt. The high valua\u00adtion is supported by the fact that Ebitda margins in this sector are often in the double-digit range, espe\u00adci\u00adally for busi\u00adnesses with good capa\u00adcity utiliza\u00adtion. Compa\u00adnies in this segment are ther\u00ade\u00adfore very profitable.<\/p>\n
